It won’t be an exaggeration if I say that there might not be any person in India who do not know the Birla’s name. Such rich and impact is the legacy of Aditya Birla’s Group on our country and evidently in my life too. The legacy started with Shiv Narayan Birla who in 1857 started cotton trading in Pilani, Rajasthan. Now it has become the third largest conglomerate in India influencing the lives of millions of People of our country.
I along with my family live in a small and beautiful village in South India. We have small amount of land for cultivation. The first big entry of Aditya Birla Group happened when we started to build a home when I was 14. We used Ultratech Cement a company of ABG as it was the most popular and well-established brand. Then again when we wanted to build a shelter for the animals ABG held their hand by providing Aluminium rolled Sheets by Hindalco Industries.
As we started the cultivation, we were need of poultry products MULTI-100 was there to help. when I came to college to complete my graduation, I learnt about another face of ABG The Apparel Segment. I tried clothes from Peter England, Pantaloons, Van Heusen, Louis Philippe, Allen Solly and felt the comfort and satisfaction. So I did the same when I started studying my MBA(IB) at IIFT. Recently I utilized the services of Aditya Birla Idea Payment Bank.
So Aditya Birla Group has been a helping hand throughout our lives at various stages by providing faithful and comfortable services and I am sure it did the same with many others in this country.
Racing against the odds
Failure is not Fatal, Failure is inevitable. If you don’t fail, perhaps you are not taking enough risk. -Mr. Kumar Mangalam Birla.
Challenges are common in anyone life, It is our attitude towards them that defines us. My life also had a lot of challenges I had to face so as to become a person I am today. My challenges started in my school. Everything was going smooth and my school had a lot of expectations on me to score well in boards. But it so happened that I could not get the expected marks and this left me into a depression. I was getting continuous success in my school that it became very difficult to cope with the failure in actual event at that young age. My parents and friends supported me and I recovered somehow and enrolled myself in a college . I had to face a lot of hurdles there as my health was not cooperating and its first time in hostel in new city surrounded by new people.
I slowly started picking up the pace and started excelling in the exams there and thought I might finally enter an NIT. Then during our academic year there were some policy changes and our 12
th marks were considered and since I scored low in 12
th my struggle became a waste. Then I started preparing for my local entrance exam and secured 1053 rank among 250000 people.
In my Bachelors I did various projects and I have to simultaneously look after my academics which was a continuous challenge for me for 4 years. In my final year I became Core committee member for technical activities so I now have to mange this extra responsibility too which I did it with prioritizing and time management.
I started preparing for my MBA by taking a leave from my job before 3 months but I my health took a turn and I was hospitalized for 50 days unexpectedly. So after that the pressure was immense as I left my job and did not have much time to study but I somehow managed my schedules by setting and modifying time tables and got into my dream college IIFT and started a new exciting journey there.
