It seems like yesterday when I was all excited to start the new journey and joined Mahindra for my two month internship and had a full induction week in the picturesque Worli Office. Presently, it has been almost a month since I have started this exciting journey and I must admit that the journey has just evolved to be more interesting and exciting with each passing day. The past month has just flown by and may be now I have fully understood the meaning of the sentence that ‘Time just flows when you are having a good time'.
The journey so far has been good and has had its fair share of challenges. But the same has also been offset by the fun times and the memories that I have created in the course of the past month. I have made new friends, not only my fellow interns who embarked on this journey with me, but also the wonderful team and managers that I have come in contact with in the course of my one month with the Company. Everyone has been kind and helpful, and the city, which were unfamiliar and scary earlier has now become a second home in such a short duration.
The company itself is one which takes care of its employees, and you are able to see the same in the everyday functioning. And the company is not all work; I have spent quite a few mornings with a lot of people discussing topics as wide as the election results, TV Series to watch, the latest twist and possible plot points of Game of Thrones and the Avengers Endgame and issues with that. The employees of the Company are extremely friendly and are not shy to share their opinions or thoughts about any topic of discussion. The same also applies if you ask them their opinion about your work, they will be more than willing to share feedback, give their opinion, even help out with possible ways to tackle the situation or problem you are facing. This helps in creating a bond within the team and encourages a sense of camaraderie. I have never felt out of place at office, and am always excited in the morning to get to work and tackle new challenges.
The work that I do is also not monotonous and is always challenging, which keeps me on my toes. I like it when the approach that I have found is not the final one and I need to find a new way, as it fills me with an energy and motivation to keep striving until we find the best approach possible. The whole process makes it like the first day and keeps me excited about my work. This also makes Mahindra a fun place to work, because everyday you are faced with the same challenge but in a new manner and that is keeps me motivated and keeps me going.
The project on date is going well, and I do hope that the same continues in the days to come, for I do like the company and the people. I hope I continue to do justice to assignments assigned to me and am able to impress my wonderful team and managers who have been my constant support and motivators during my brief stint with the company.
