My Online Interview Experience At SJMSOM, IIT Bombay - Rushikesh Sonawane

Today, I would like to share my interview experience at SJMSOM, IIT Bombay for the session 2021-23. After applying at SJMSOM, I received a mail regarding my online interview with the application ID, timing, online platform(it was Google meet) and some instructions. It was scheduled on 7th of March in slot 2.
We were already informed about the Gather platform which was specially made for the admission process. The software was created keeping in mind to give an actual interview experience at SJMSOM, but virtually.

As we were allowed in for Google meet, we were directly transferred at Gather platform where there was a virtual SJMSOM Entry gate and instructing us to enter (with the help of keyboard up and down arrows). Then we arrived at a waiting hall which consisted of a room type allocation, area assigning a buddy(mentor) for helping at each and everystep. Afterwards, some general instructions were given and followed by the initiation of an online interview. In my room, I was the last person to be interviewed. Before interview begin, we were asked to go into another room(virtually) where document verification was going on and after its completion, we returned back to the original place. Finally, I was called for the interview.
I arrived in the interview room where there were two panelists. (Let say M1 and M2).

M1:- So Rushikesh, tell me about yourself. [Answered, as it was a turning point of my interview]
M1:- Asked about how I managed despite of all these obstacles in my life.[Answered]
M1:- Asked about my work experience, roles and responsibilities. [Answered]
M1:- Asked about how my area handled the rising covid-19 cases, what precautions and actions did I took personally. [Answered]
M1:- Asked a comparable question of Delhi metro and Mumbai metro (a part of work experience question). [Answered]
Then M1 asked M2 to interview me...
M2:- Why MBA. [Answered]
M2:- So you are planning to pursue from Finance domain, so do you have some finance
knowledge? [Answered]
M2:- Asked me about NPV. [Answered]
M2:- Asked me about how to calculate future value. [Initially, I fumbled up, though it was an easy question].
M2:- Asked me about the stock market, Sensex, nifty. Now Sensex and nifty was rising, so what is the reason. Will it continue to rise?[Answered, but not up to the mark].
M2:-OK, Rushikesh, Thank you.

We were instructed to go back to the waiting room. And then allowed to leave the meeting.
The interview lasted for about 13 to 15 minutes.
