HAT TIP TO THE GROUP THAT MATTERS
From the peach checked
Allen Solly shirt for the first placement process to the sapphire colored gown for the farewell eve from
Pantaloons, Aditya Birla group has been an unparalleled companion who has got my back. It has seen me turn the pages of life and move from one chapter to another. It soaked tears I shed when I could not clear interview of a B-school and danced with me to the tunes of joy when I was elated the most on my fresher’s night. I still remember my dad’s 50th birthday, when I gifted him a shirt and trousers from his favorite brand,
Peter England. I had seen him hunting through stores and almost every time ending up buying from Peter England. That’s when I knew what would be the perfect gift for him.
Not just for me, the group breathes with millions of people through their walks of life. The
Ultratech cement beautifully amalgamates the emotions and faith people bestow on it when they see their magnificent dream in the making: the perfect house. And to help people inch closer to their dreams, the group also stands to finance their activities. The US$44.3 billion group, with 120,000 employees striving for delivering their best, is certainly entangled with the most important parts of our lives as well.
Thus, I would be failing in my duties if I do not express my gratitude to the group for being an unprecedented part of my life. Thank you for giving me the
FreshWrapped chapatis that my mom prepared for me. Thank you for the amazing
Idea that broke the barriers of distance. Thank you for the beautiful
Pantaloons that make me feel
Forever 21. Thank you for the
Eternia that let the new ray of hope enter our lives after dusky nights. Thank you for being the
Ultratech Balwan that you are, forming a backbone of the country. Thank you
Aditya Birla, for
Making a Difference in the multiple facades of our life.
RESURRECTION
“Challenges are what make life interesting; overcoming them is what makes life beautiful”Let us time travel to April 6, 2014, a young girl of 17 years, fresh out of school with a gleam of hard work in her eyes, all set to give one of the toughest examinations in the world for engineering. She prepared for a year and a half and was ready to give her best now as she knew this day could change her life and help her take a leap towards her dream. But she wasn’t aware of what was going to happen with her next. She filled the wrong enrollment in her answer sheet and there was no extra answer sheet available. In an exam where every moment counts, she lost 25 minutes figuring out what would happen next. She started with the paper without being sure of it will be evaluated or not. In the span of those twenty minutes, all the sleepless nights and sacrifices of rejuvenation hallucinated in front of her eyes. Multiple defeats in the practice tests and yet an eagerness to attempt every single paper ran through her spine. But it was in a matter of those 25 minutes she realized that is how hard life can be many a times. The important part in life is to ‘Be Prepared for anything and everything’.
That girl was me. I realized that no matter what the consequences would be, turning your back to the situation is never a solution. I pulled myself together and started attempting the paper. With my heart pounding in my mouth, I checked the result and yes, my paper was evaluated and I cleared the mains examination. Although the incident happened on one of the most important days of my life and daunted me for a while, it has given me a learning that no motivational lecture can match. From then on, I actually got to know the meaning of ‘all odds against you’ or ‘no star in your favor’. But at the same time, I also learnt that no matter what the situation may be, keep trying. The challenge in your life can be as small as learning to drive, to as big as facing the interview you have long been waiting for. The gravity of the challenge may vary. But there’s one single force like the ‘Theory of everything’ that binds us in difficult times: Persistence. The most important thing in life is not always being the best, but never stopping to strive for being the best.
