It all started with a guest session at our campus of MISB Bocconi by Mr. Neil George, Managing Director at Nivea India, Bangladesh, SL, and Nepal. A self-confessed Gooner and expert on all things marketing, Mr. Neil met the batch of PGPB6 on 30th October, 2017. The session started with an interactive activity and the winners got an opportunity to experience a day at Nivea India office in Mumbai. Apart from this, the winners also received a signed copy of his recently launched comic book on brand management – “Building the Perfect Beast”. Shruthi Sharma, Tom Stany and I got the exciting opportunity to visit Nivea and it was an overwhelming experience. We were warmly welcomed to the office and Mr. Neil hosted us throughout the experience. It was an absolute enriching experience when we walked through the blue and white colored walls of NIVEA office which represented the brand and the staunch values of care, trust, courage, and simplicity. As we entered the boardroom of Nivea, we interacted with the heads of various domains. We were welcomed by the Leadership team themselves and it showcased the warmth of the brand.  We were joined by the heads of Marketing, E-Commerce, HR, Supply Chain Management, and Finance. We had a wonderfully detailed presentation on Nivea on campus where the Talent Acquisition head showcased the process of campus hiring and the unique programs like Blue Jeans project, Women in Leadership (Sales), Management Trainee Program to scout the best talent across the country.  We further learned that the values of NIVEA originate from the tin can and all the products and employees carry this along with them. It was fabulous to know that Nivea also had a family care day wherein family members of employees were personally invited to the office to see their loved ones working in the office. The initiatives and the care Nivea instills are brilliant and making it the best place to work. We were then taken on an office tour where we saw the brand new office in Art Guild house, located near Phoenix Marketcity, Kurla. We toured across small corners of telephone booths for silent conversations, the hustling cafe, Mr. Neil's cabin, conference rooms which were uniquely named from '#hashtag', #hotspot, #care. We were told about the induction of a new employee and the effort Nivea takes to make the incumbent at home. The meeting ended with photographs and a token from the brand as a gift to each student. It was an overwhelming experience and we are proud to have got this opportunity. The learnings from this experience will always stay with us.   Which ABGP company will you like to join and why? My leadership involvement, coursework, and professional experience make me a well-qualified applicant at Aditya Birla Retail Limited. My work experience with Directi as Business Development Executive and Client Account Manager and at Future Group-Foodhall India as Marketing- Brand Management Intern, has given me a sound background and great exposure into Marketing, Digital Marketing, and Sales. Foodilicious Voyages, my entrepreneurial venture for over 3 years, has given me exposure to the F & B industry, social media marketing, and brand promotions.
