Having joined the institution only a couple of weeks back, I can still distinctly recall the feeling of awe as I walked past the piano at the heart of the atrium when I entered the University campus for the first time. Not even in my most hopeful dreams did I think I would spend most of my next 2 learning years in such a sophisticated, corporate simulating environment with the most modern infrastructure where you feel more like a corporate professional than like just a student.
However, I would be lying if I said I didn’t wonder how the campus was comfortably accommodating over a 1000 students. In my first week, I understood how every corner of the campus was meticulously designed to emphasise student comfort right from 16 gigantic elevators operating full time at every floor, height adjustable revolving chairs, air-conditioned and projector enabled classrooms to power sockets for every 2 seats to facilitate convenient studying environments.
As I progressed further into the course, I saw how the campus that earlier seemed minimal to me had so much to offer with a massive library, indoor games, a canteen with a wide variety of cuisine and absolutely delicious food. As I deliberated on why the size of a college campus was promoted and considered important amongst students, I noticed that I had formed close associations with students that I did not share a class or subjects in common with. The buzzing campus paved way for greater social interaction with new people every day and through it, the sharing of experiences and learning to understand different perspectives.
On one instance as I discussed with an experienced group of peers about profiles and companies we desired to work for, I shared with them my interest in pursuing finance as my course specialization and to be associated with Aditya Birla Capital since it has an extremely diverse and strong presence in various financial services businesses. Further, being part of an organisation that holds such high industry reputation and dominates the market across various industries and sectors, I expressed to them the Aditya Birla Group would be the most ideal organisation to be associated with for my interests. I was offered guidance by the new friendships there about how to enhance my knowledge on various aspects of finance and the skills to master to achieve my goal.
My university campus promotes and nurtures student comfort, bonding and friendship like no other and truly stands out as the best, breaking the stereotypes associated with B-school campuses.
