NMIMS School of Business Management, Mumbai, India’s premier B-School and consistently ranked among the Top-10 B-Schools of the country year after year has reported a high number of PPO/PPI’s this year for its MBA & MBA HR Programs. The count so far has touched 245 with a few more in the offing and has exceeded last year’s tally of 205. Top companies that have recognized the outstanding calibre of the MBA students are 3M, Abbott, Agrotech Foods, Asian Paints, Britannia, Capgemini, Cognizant Business Consulting, Credit Suisse, CRISIL, Cummins, DE Shaw, Dabur, Danaher, Deloitte, Dr Lal Path Labs, EMC^2, Future Group, Gartner, GE, Genpact, Google, Goldman Sachs, HCCB, Honeywell, HSBC, HT Media, HUL, IBM, ICICI Bank, ICICI Pru AMC, Idea Cellular, Infoedge, ITC,  JLT, KPMG, L&T, L’Oreal, Loginext, Marico, Medtronic, Microsoft, Nestle, Nomura, Perfetti, Pidilite, Raymond, RBL, Shopclues, Siemens, Titan, Vodafone, Wipro etc. NMIMS Mumbai has reported an increase of 20% in a number of PPI/PPO this year. These offers are based on the exceptional quality of work displayed during the internships. PPOs and PPIs are a method adopted by companies to capture talent earlier in the placement season based on the performance of students during internships. A few students also proved their mettle by bagging the Best Intern Awards competing with interns from other top b-schools at leading companies such as Siemens, Cognizant Business Consulting, Britannia, Pidilite, Merck MSD, LogiNext etc. Shrenik Mehta, winner of Best Intern at Britannia, says “The two-month Summer Internship stint at Britannia was an extremely enriching experience. I learnt a lot and it gives me immense joy to know that I contributed positively to my organisation. I am deeply grateful to Britannia for this award, it is an honour.” PPI/PPO offers were received through B-school competitions organized by premier companies – 4 from ET Young Leader contest; 3 to the campus winners of ITC Interrobang, 4 to the national finalists of Ground Zero by Future Group, 6 to winners & national finalists of Carpe Diem by HUL – the competition NMIMS Mumbai has been winning for two consecutive years now. L’Oreal offered 2 PPOs to the finalists of Brandstorm – an international level competition and Reckitt Benckiser offered a PPI to the runners-up of RB Mavericks. Other competitions that offered PPI/PPO’s are Maverick by Deloitte & Voyage Case study of Vodafone. The institute has been consistently placing about 25% of the batch since past many years through PPIs/PPOs. Dr. Debashis Sanyal – Vice Provost (Management Education) & Dean (SBM) NMIMS remarked, “This successful endeavour is a reflection of the faith that companies have in our students. The aim of the b-school is to provide the best quality of education and I am happy to know that the companies have reaffirmed it by showing such confidence in our students”.
