I have never stayed in a city for more than 2-3 years. My hardworking father, being in the textile industry, was constantly changing jobs and cities and as a family were suffering because of that. Because of this. I used to change schools frequently and consequently, my friends and the whole environment keep on changing too. My parents realised that this was taking a toll on my brother and me so we decided to shift to Jaipur in 2008. This was a well-thought decision by my parents so that we can have uninterrupted good schooling. For this, my mom decided to stay away from my dad for around four years, and I couldn't thank her enough for this. The sacrifice they have made and hardships they have gone through so that their children can have proper schooling in the prime years is something that I will never forget.
But this is not about the hardships or the heroic stories or the challenges I overcame; it is about the brand that has been with us from ages. This is about the trust they have built and developed in the common man on India that whether or not that common man knows about the company, they associate the brand with quality, pride and honour. This is about our very own Aditya Birla Group.
So like any other Indian house, my parents particularly my father used to buy my clothes for me. Not as a surprise or a gift, but even regular clothes and that too without asking me. And usually, they were of a size bigger than what I wear so that they can be used till eternity. But the good thing was, he believed in quality. I am not exaggerating, being in the field of textile, he knows a lot about different types of fabrics and weaving, and he used to believe in likes of Peter England, Allen Solly and Van Heusen. And now fast forwarding to today, he still trusts these brands. I guess that speaks for itself, for a company to maintain that brand image for so many years and that too at the highest stage. It's not an easy thing to achieve and that why India believes in ABG.
