“Nothing worth having comes easy” has been the motto of my life. I always dreamt of pursuing MBA from one of the top institutes of India. When I came to know that I was shortlisted for IIFT-Delhi, my happiness knew no bounds though I was a bit apprehensive about being out of my comfort zone for the first time as I am going to stay away from my parents, my city and everything that I knew for years. I felt that this was the biggest challenge for me. Then the day came when I finally reached Delhi. With a lot of apprehensions and even a bigger dream, I entered the campus of IIFT. I kind of had a sense of satisfaction that my hard work has borne fruit. Post Graduation is probably the last time that anyone would experience college life. College phase always gives us an opportunity to explore and help us to dive deep into the ocean of new beginnings and possibilities. This period lays a strong foundation to help us face us all the challenges that come up in the future. Fortunate are those who secured an opportunity to experience these things in IIFT. One of the most important things that I liked about IIFT is its cultural diversity. I have never been away from home, meeting everybody from different cultures and interacting with them gives a different perspective. I observed a shift in my perception of the world. Student Exchange Program(SEP) is one of the exclusive programs provided by IIFT in which the institute offers the eligible students a wonderful opportunity to explore the foreign countries providing an international exposure making the student corporate ready. This gives students an opportunity to closely understand about the curriculum outside India and will also help them plan their budget and live accordingly. Something that intrigued me was the functioning of student bodies. They carry out the major functions of the institute and play a major role in turning today’s students into tomorrow’s leaders. The dedication and interest they put forward with great responsibility to achieve excellence is fascinating. The course structure aims at providing practical knowledge in addition to the traditional theories. Despite the serious academic life, IIFT is also known for its extra-curricular achievements and fun activities that energise the soul. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Which company in ABG and why? I would like to work in Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Limited (ABFRL) as I am much inclined towards fashion as well as marketing. ABFRL is the largest fashion retailer in India. This would provide me an opportunity to learn more about advertising, brand management and various marketing strategies. ABFRL believes in infusing bursts of continual enthusiasm and energy through team building and competition based activities help a person to grow personally as well as professionally.
