Technologies used: The technologies imbibed in their products reflect the understanding of tomorrow’s challenges. It has introduced Valeo’s Stop-Start system which automatically switches the engine off when the vehicle is at a standstill, providing fuel savings of up to 15% in congested city driving. Also, the company has introduced a hybrid technology which aims at reducing fuel consumption by 15% known as the Hybrid4All system. In this world of digitalization, where the customer demands the technology to be at their finger-tips, the company has come up with a new invention called the Valeo InBlue® system which recognizes the driver’s smartphone or smartwatch, unlocks the car and allows the driver to start it.
Environmental Responsibility: The company focuses on reducing the risk of polluting supply sources and ensuring good quality water for the staff through monitoring and recycling systems. It also aims at optimizing transportation and logistics by limiting their packaging consumption via a partnership with suppliers and customers. It also promotes eco-design process within the organization which aims at improved recyclability, less consumption of raw materials, the use of new materials that enable weight reduction, less pollution during re-treatment, as well as high safety and security standards.
Future Scope: At Valeo, they are constantly re-imagining what the car of tomorrow will look like by innovating daily to design solutions that make future cars sustainable and eco-friendly. As per the reports, the company aims to reduce direct and indirect greenhouse gas emissions as a proportion of sales by 8% between 2016 and 2020. Also, reduce waste production as a proportion of sales by 5% between 2016 and 2020. Hence, the above shows the commitment the company possesses in protecting the environment and creating innovation for new products, environmentally-efficient industrial processes.
