I remember the time I was a child when I first encountered Aditya Birla in my life. It was a sunny day with a lot of smiles around me, the reason being we were about to start construction on our very first home. An event like this was bound to be the first milestone in every kid's life since he/she would be getting his very own room and has endless expectations on how life would proceed further. With the opening ceremonies done, there came two huge trucks with cement machinery, and the one thing I notice on the vehicles was ‘Ultratech Cement.'
As I was starting Primary school, the only thing that kept me off home was the home packed food which my mother had wrapped in FreshWrapp foils which had kept the hot rotis in the same condition as they were packed. As time passed by, the tree in our backyard had grown up to 7 feet tall, and so did my curiosity as I was going to start secondary school. I now dressed formally for many occasions in school, and my go-to suits were from ‘Peter England' and ‘Louis Phillipe.'
There were days when my family and I went out for a vacation and in need of emergencies, ‘Idea cellular' network always came through in remote locations due to the presence of vast network across India.
The above only mentions a minuscule impact that Aditya Birla has had on family and me, and I am sure it has done the same on many Indian households where hope and honesty are still the core values, and people look forward to a better future.
As a child, I had always suffered from stammering, and as a result, I never had expressed myself in front of others in any way. I was the laughingstock of my class whenever I spoke. This had made me have very less self-esteem and had affected me in every front.
After many years of self-deprivation, I had committed to myself to be a better speaker. Day after day, I increased my class participation regardless of what others may think, and I kept on speaking in many debate/speaking competitions, where I began to see myself improve in my speech. Not only I could talk without hesitation, but I was also observing myself grow in Vocabulary as well, which kept me going to reach greater heights in speaking.
I decided to go further in my quest for better speech when I decided to join Toastmasters, which is a public speaking platform. I went there and started giving speeches which lasted up to 5-7 minutes, and this is where I started winning club competitions and started to motivate similar people who were in need to come out of their shell and speak themselves in front of the world.
For any task/challenge, there is a need for commitment and resolve, which can take any human to unimaginable lengths of success.
I hope that ABG continues to make an impact on lives in India as well as the whole world wherever there is a need for a quality life and motivation.
