It was 5th July 2019 when I set foot at IIM Bodh Gaya for my 2 years MBA Program. Initially, I was rather dubious about joining a 'Baby' IIM, nevertheless, after the week-long Induction Session, I was completely certain that I have reached the right place. From formal introductions to GDs, melodic musical evenings to activities full of animations, our seniors ensured that these new saplings get properly rooted.
Classes began not so long after a few Tutorial sessions. From attending 9 am lectures every day to burning the midnight oil before submissions at 3 am, I started feeling the passion and pressure of an IIM. Cracking the omnipresent case studies, creating presentations while preparing for quizzes became the new normal and I recognised the famed rigour which the IIMs are known for. The learned & experienced professors ensured the professionalism amongst us to make us corporate ready.
Before joining, I read that top B-schools in India are mostly student-driven and I was as thrilled to realise that IIM Bodh Gaya was no different. The committee selection procedures started soon and after 3 rounds of heats, I got into the Admission Committee aka AdCom. Soon, the next CAT happened, and the AdCom began rolling its wheels. I cannot stop but marvel at my AdCom colleagues for the splendid job, we accomplished since December 2019, to support the entire admissions process for the upcoming batch. From being a mentee to the candidates for WAT-PI process to guiding the final converts with their registration, this has been a total achievement, nonetheless.
A B-school is about the extracurricular activities as much for what it's worth about the scholastics. IIM Bodh Gaya provided me with a grand stage where I could showcase my love of singing to professors, HRs and CXOs of various corporates, editors of various newspapers and ofcourse my batchmates.
After several late-night group activities, organising events and taking new initiatives, internship placement & birthday celebrations, mid-night table tennis sessions, watching English Premier League in the Common Room, going to the city of Bodh Gaya to savour Thai or Japanese cuisine or to visit the Mahabodhi Temple, I can say I had a very happening one year. While my first year was a very fulfilling one, I am anticipating to having an even better one in my ultimate year at IIM Bodh Gaya.
