The interview experience at IIT-B SJMSOM was one of its kind. What made it so, was not just the questions that were asked but also the entire experience of it from the waiting period, doc verification till the interview was completed. In the view of the COVID background they had went through the efforts of integrating a whole new platform for the interview process exclusively. There were tables for candidates to wait; volunteers to guide us from the waiting rooms to the doc verification rooms and then the interview rooms. Everything virtual, ofcourse ! The entire process was super seamless and the volunteers helped us calm down, shared the interview experiences and were boosting our confidence.

My interview panel consisted of 3 members – 2 were professors at the institute and one Alumnus of  SJMSOM. It started with - Introduce yourself; and the very next question was about my work experience. Being a cyber-security consultant, I was asked questions from the same domain. The questions were not all very direct definitions but actually made me think logically. The next set of questions came from the Alumnus. He asked me some questions about current affairs and since the budget had been announced couple of days before, most were from the same area of subject. The interview was challenging but that’s what made it so very interesting because I had to think about each one logically and sometimes based on my experience. One of those, which I remember was – I am the finance minister and was given 100 rupees and was supposed to make a budget under those frontiers. The last interviewer asked me questions mixing the cyber-security discipline and guesstimates based on the same. For eg – the number of attacks that might be happening in a day; The number of cyber sec consultants that a specific company should hire given its expanse, etc.
Towards the conclusion I was quite satisfied with my answers. I was at the edge of my seat since the very beginning and my previous nervousness was completely overridden by the same.

The experience was enriching by all means and brought out the best in me. Genuinely grateful to the entire team and staff that brought it to life and wishing greater luck for the forthcoming aspirants ! Thanks one. Thanks all !
