It is very vehemently quoted, “BE STRONGER THAN YOUR EXCUSES”, and here I stand, trying to make it my life’s motive, to be stronger than any excuse which can be thought of and to sideline it so as to thrive better in life and achieve what is certainly meant for me.
Like every other student, I also believe that education is the key to success and is a real game changer in life for one to succeed in their life, thus I always prioritized my education and academics over anything else.
I did my Bachelor of Sciences from the University of Delhi, Sri Venkateswara College in
B.Sc (H) Biological Sciences (2015-2018). During my first year only I was intrigued by the students around me from the commerce background and their fond for internships so to understand my friends better, I started indulging myself in the world/field of internships and volunteering.
Little did I know that this fond for an internship will lead me someday in understanding where my real passion lies- in the world of management. With my very first project at Leaders for Tomorrow and Rhythmos, I started understanding that what is my caliber and what else is achievable apart from good academics; is extracurricular and hands-on training in different fields. With these volunteering work in my hand, my first year ended really well and now I was in much more awe and fascination with the world of management. I started my second year by joining real internships for better training and experiences to understand the work field better. I made it in my mind that to understand a field better, I need to go to the cores and need to understand the very parts the fields can offer, so, I started by joining Preptrail, a start-up firm, where I worked as a
marketing intern and my work was to do branding and sourcing of the contents. I got to learn a great deal from this internship as I got to make new friends/colleagues, I got to understand the insights of how marketing really works and how one should target an audience.
This all came handy to me for my second internship as a Campus Ambassador with Loyelte, where I got to learn that how a customer and merchant is acquitted well and also how your leadership skills should be honed to lead your own team.
Alongside Loyelte, I was working with my College for an International Conference, EnCon 2017 which was to happen in the month of January 2017. I was working for the conference for 8 months and to my great belief, EnCon taught me a great deal about different job sectors and managerial work that can be done (than anything else ever made me understand). I worked as a Head Volunteer there, I had a team of 150+ members under me, and the responsibilities I dealt with included training the members, look after the content development, online or offline media promotions, sponsorship, branding-outsourcing, linguistics, or anything else.
I truly got to understand my real caliber and passion, I finally understood that what I am meant for.
From that moment onwards, I made it up as my goal to understand the basics of all the fields there is to know about and to understand all the scenarios well.
To help myself in sorting my priorities, I did my last internship with Tembyr to help me understand my roles and responsibilities better. I started working as an HR Executive at Tembyr where I had to select, shortlist and hire interns for my firm for the various profiles open to us.
With all these volunteering work and internships I had done I at least got one thing clear that my true passion lies in management and what better option than studying management itself, to give myself and my career a better kick start out in the market?!
I understand that I need to know the basics of the field well, very well indeed, so, that when I truly enter the big world someday, I can ride it off to my victory, because I believe that I have what it takes, I have both excellence and stature to thrive better and to do the hard work out there.
So, to pursue what I wanted to do I sat for B School competitive exams, went through a rigorous one-year preparatory phase in my life, but at last, I can say it, I made it.
And now at SCMHRD, I am living the dream which I always wanted to live. Though I’d to pass through a lot of hardships and tough choices, that’s my story so far and my decisions which keep on motivating me and help me in overcoming the challenges I face.
