Why Aditya Birla Group is big in my life?
Aditya Birla Group is a $44.3 Billion corporation that is active in 14 industries and has been the leader in every sector it’s been operating. 1857 is not famous only for the famous first revolt of independence. It was also the time when the foundation stone of Aditya Birla Group was laid by Shiv Narayan Birla. He started trading cotton in a small shop in Pilani and since then, there’s no stopping Aditya Birla Group. The group has its presence in sectors like cement, textiles, metals, cellular, carbon black, chemicals, financial services. The group is a Fortune 500 company with presence across 36 countries and around 1,20,000 workforce.
The foremost brand of the group is used widely is their cellular network, Idea-Vodafone. Since the day I’m using a phone, I’m using their SIM. I’ve seen all the technology up gradation from 2G to 4G and how Idea has kept with the technology. The coverage and network speed they offer is among the best in the industry.
The next brand that I use frequently use is their clothing arm. The brands like Allen Solly, Louis Philippe, Van Heusen are among the best clothing brands of the country. The quality and cost of the products these brands offer make me want to use them. I never felt that I’m wearing a local Indian brand, it was always as good as the imported product. The better you dress, the more confident you feel has been my motto and ABG has done justice to it.
One more service of ABG that I use is their financial service arm. Being a working millennial, I was looking for a savings/investment scheme. I got to know about their mutual funds scheme. Upon research I found that most of their mutual funds are amongst the top 5 funds. I started investing them and have been doing it for 3 years. Till date, I’ve no regrets and probably that was one of the best decisions of my life.
Going by all of the products and services that the group offers, I can say that the group plays an inevitable part in my life.
How do I overcome challenges to achieve my ambitions in life?
I’ve always been an achiever throughout my life. Starting from school, I’ve been always among the top students, be it in studies or extra-curricular activities. I’ve been awarded numerous certificates and accolades for my academic excellence and non-academics. Then I got admitted into one of the best engineering colleges of the country. Then I worked for world’s number 1 automotive semiconductor company. After that I decided to pursue an MBA from a premier B school of the country. This journey was not a bed of roses for me. It had a lot of challenges for me to overcome. It had made me a stronger and a better person. The most recent challenge that I faced was preparing for my B-school entrance exam while working full time. I had to balance both things, giving each of them equal importance. Just like ABG has been doing wonders in each sector it operates by staying focus and love what they are doing, I too, did justice to both the tasks that were there in my hands by securing a seat in Indian Institute of Foreign Trade as well as receiving appreciations from my employer. Just like ABG set their target and competes with themselves, I used to set targets for myself and would try to break my own records. Prior to this, I faced a challenge when I was preparing from my dream company. I had to took care of the studies and simultaneously prepare for the company with many people doubting my skills. But just the current CEO proved all those people wrong doubting him when he suddenly bestowed upon the responsibility of the ABG, I proved them wrong by securing a seat in my dream company while managing my studies. One more challenge that I faced that while working on my academics, I struggled with my organization skills. But just like all the leaders of the ABG had vision which prevented the group from succumbing to the foreign competition, I too knew that I would have to work upon these skills. I tried to engage more in team meetings and arranged few official team outings for my team at my previous employer.
