My journey started from Orange city Nagpur to the Temple city Bhubaneswar when I converted Xavier School of Human Resource Management (XAHR), which is considered one of the top HR B -Schools in India. XAHR has its campus around 15kms away from the city. On my way to the campus, on the left, a big gate indicating my destination grabbed my attention. My heart was throbbing and I was ready to start the new journey of my life. I was awestruck by the beauty of the campus. The XAHR campus, just like the city Bhubaneswar, is so tidy and clean. All thanks to the "BHAINAS" for the maintenance. The lush green campus left me wonderstruck. My eyes drifted towards the horizon, where the sky had turned pink and I could not just wait but capture the moment. Life at XAHR, is full of surprises as the very first surprise was given to us the very first day. No my friend, not the fresher’s party but the assignment which helped us a lot about getting an idea and feel of what a B-School actually is. The sudden sessions with seniors, the senior-junior interaction and activities helped us in getting out of our comfort zone and be ever ready for any opportunity that knocks on our door. Gradually, I learnt XAHR is a student-driven and a student centric university which perfectly defines a B-School. From admissions to orientation, from SIPs to placement, everything is handled by students. This enables the students to showcase their skills and get a real-time experience of managing not only Human Resource but also an organization. Talking about the committees, there are many committees for students to showcase their talent, their skills and get recognized. It has been a month and we already had 2 opportunities to showcase our talent and n number of sessions from morning till late evening. In midst of this busy schedule, one must always find a peaceful place in the campus ie. The chapel. The chapel not only releases the stress but is a serene and calm place where one could think and have a clear picture of anything and everything. This is what differentiates XAHR campus from other campuses. Diversity is what sets my campus apart. Diversity in food, diversity in people, diversity in food stalls, diversity in culture, diversity in everything. I am proud and happy to be a part of such a diverse group and also having been mentored by one of the best faculties.     Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Limited – Why? ABFRL is my first choice as I believe in “Life is too short to wear boring clothes” and I am actually a fashion freak. ABFRL is one of the biggest brand corporations and being part of ABFRL would open a door of opportunities for me to learn. ABFRL, along with focussing on business strategies, also makes sure to give back to the society. It aims at being sustainable and promoting sustainability. The best thing about ABFRL I feel is it focusses on its employee’s professional and personal growth and provides a pool of learning opportunities for its employees to dive into. And as the market is driving towards digitalization, having prior experience in an IT sector would help me contribute a bit to the organization.   Pratiksha Wighe MBA-HRM, 1st year XAHR-XUB
