IIM Udaipur, a management school in the city of lakes working its way towards being a globally recognized institution. With its significant leap in UT Dallas ranking (3
rd in India) for management research and NIRF ranking (13
th in India) for the management category, it has taken off with a great start. For a student in IIM Udaipur, it offers an opportunity to be a part of its ambitious journey and thereby transform ourselves during our tenure here. The institute moulds us to face the demanding corporate world out there. All the activities and courses we go through here helps us in one way or another to achieve that goal.
Among an already rigorous MBA from an IIM, the core focus on academics of IIM Udaipur may seem hectic from outside. But for those of us in the program, this just enables us to learn to better plan our time and prioritize what is important and what isn’t. Apart from our academic commitments, we engage in various club and committee activities, participate in several corporate and B-School competitions, undertake live projects, organize and participate in various cultural and sports events and celebrate diverse festivals of our country. The frequent visits from the industry leaders and their talks impart a lot of learnings for us and help us stay aware of what is expected of us outside this campus. The student exchange program and International Business Practices (IBP) program give us an opportunity to get ourselves acquainted with how business is conducted worldwide and also give us a gist of how cultural differences and other factors influence our business. Udaipur, one of the best tourist destinations in the country also provide us with a chance to relax and enjoy our weekends which are not occupied by other activities. The 300-acre campus itself is scenic especially after rain where the surrounding mountains will be filled with vegetation. Adding to that is the upcoming artificial lake which is currently under construction. All the achievements the institute completed was mas made possible because of the leadership of our visionary director, Prof. Janat Shah. The fact that he is the only director of new IIMs to get his term renewed is a recognition of the miles covered by this institute. The inculcation of an entrepreneurial mindset is another factor which differentiates this institution. The incubation centre in the campus provides a great platform for an aspiring entrepreneur. With all this, IIM Udaipur is on its way to new heights.
ADITYA BIRLA IDEA PAYMENTS BANK LIMITED
I consider Idea Payments Bank would be the best-suited destination for me. This initiative founded in 2016 has a great growth potential with heavy competition from several other players. Considering the sheer size of the Indian market and opportunities it serve, the bank has the potential to be the shining star among the Aditya Birla Group of companies if the company could gain a competitive advantage and reflect it through market share. But it faces some crucial issues like restrictions on fund deployment, high competition and cross-selling regulations among others. Being someone who likes to take up challenging tasks, I believe that all these presents me with a great opportunity to learn and grow with the organization.
