The ninth Indian Institute of Management was established at Ranchi in 2010. This was made possible under the guidance of Ministry of HRD, Government of India and the Government of Jharkhand working under the mentorship of Indian Institute of Management Calcutta.
IIM Ranchi currently offers a Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM), Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management (PGDHRM), Fellow Programme in Management (FPM) and a Post Graduate Programme in Management for Executives (PGEXP). IIM Ranchi is
the first and the only IIM offering a full-time two-year programme in
Human Resources Management. The HR course curriculum, designed under the guidance of NHRDN- the apex body of HR in the country, seeks to provide its students the breadth and depth of business knowledge, mastery of HR management concepts and awareness, appreciation and understanding of the application of HR learning and practices in the business context. Apart from the core faculty, there is a good blend of visiting faculties from other IIMs and topmost B-Schools in India and abroad and also industry stalwarts from companies like Flipkart. Graduates of this programme are qualified for executive positions in Human Resources Development, Personnel Management, Industrial Relations, Labour Welfare and other related areas.
In only a few years’ span, PGDHRM students of IIM Ranchi have brought many laurels to the college by winning various national competitions. Some of those achievements include –
