The new state of the art, red-brick campus of IIM Kashipur, spread across 200 acres of area, is located in the foothills of Himalaya’s near one of India’s oldest National Parks, in the city of Kashipur in the Udham Singh Nagar district of Uttarakhand, India. IIM Kashipur commenced it's operating from July 2011 under the mentorship of IIM Lucknow. Since then, IIM Kashipur, also known as IIM in the North has come a long way ahead. It was the first among the new IIMs to move to its permanent campus. Being situated in the rural underdeveloped locality, IIM Kashipur is tasked with the responsibility of developing its surroundings apart from giving India its future top managers. Moreover, institutes proximity to one the most densely industrialized regions provides numerous opportunities for industry interaction and projects.
IIM Kashipur has one of the toughest academic curriculum designed to test not only the intelligence of the students but also their rigor. The institute has 13 Bloomberg terminals, a well-stocked library and in association with World Bank, the institute also offers various courses related to environment and agriculture. The Gorilla, the official mascot of the OYM-On Your Mark, the marketing club of IIM Kashipur is a well-known personality. The posters of the Gorilla are found everywhere, attracting students, asking them to participate in various marketing completions. Another highlight of IIM Kashipur is its Student Exchange Program. IIM Kashipur has tie-ups with Ecole de Management de Normandie (EM Normandie), Caen, Le Havre, Deauville, France; ESDES Lyon Business School; Asian Institute of Technology, Bangkok; FPT School of Business, Ha Noi, Vietnam; Alba Business School, Athens and Aalborg University, Denmark for the student exchange program. The institute also has a Faculty Exchange program which helps in reinforcing its corporate relations, developing academic and cultural interchanges with international institutes via mutual corporation in areas of education and research. IIM Kashipur is now a member of AACSB: The Association to Advance Collegiate the School of Business. The newly founded international relations committee is charged with a responsibility to take this journey further ahead and improve the international relations of the institute. One of the most awaited events at the Kashipur campus is the TEDxIIMKashipur. Not only this, unlike other IIM’s, the hostels at IIM Kashipur use radiant cooling rather than conventional air conditioning, which in turn promotes the Institute's vision of environment preservation.
Apart from academics, IIM Kashipur also offers a great experience for adventure enthusiasts, especially the bikers. With the director as the head of biker’s club, the students often go for bike tours to various scenic locations nearby, whose routes are considered as paradise by many bikers. Being students of Institute of National Importance, we take the responsibility of taking care of our surroundings very seriously. The Parivartan club of IIM Kashipur helps us realize this responsibility, aiming to make difference in the lives of around the campus. The Kashipur Marathon organized by the club, is used to spread awareness about various social issues. The club also organizes games and other activities for the supporting staff of the campus, to make them feel part of the institute.
