Passion and commitment towards people, things and work motivates me to perform better and be a better version of me every single day. From school days, I was into sports including cricket, badminton, table tennis etc. From a young age of 10 years, cricket taught me the meaning of passion. I used to follow cricket as well play from West Delhi Cricket Academy. My commitment towards the same helped me become the Sports Captain of the school. Apart from sports, I performed well in academics. Being a commerce student, I secured 95% in 12
th and at the same time gave entrances for BBA. This was the first instance I can recollect of using an Allen Solly shirt along with Vanheusen suit. During the 3 years of my graduation, I came across multiple instances of using ABG products mostly apparel brands. The vibrant and classy apparel made me more confident and I outperformed my peers in terms of college societies as well as in other activities.
I prepared for CAT and could not clear it in the first attempt. I decided to take a gap and prepare for one more year sitting at home. Despite thinking that friends were earning in their jobs and me just preparing for an exam, I pushed harder to perform better. After a committed effort, I cracked the CAT exam and joined IIM Rohtak. Vanhuesen, Allen Solly, Pantaloons, Louis Philippe and Peter England were not just Apparel brands now but examples of brands to look at and understand how they price, promote and distribute the product. They were not just clothes to look attractive but a case to understand how a premium product has a different market strategy than an economy product. This is where the transition happened from being a graduate to being an MBA participant at an IIM. Being a part of various activities in college broadened my view on how to look at different problems and perspective is the key to many adverse situations.
This is the time where Vodafone Idea and telecom space is not just a normal happening but an integral part of an MBA participant to look from a consultant’s point of view. In the 1
st year journey there have been numerous instances where I felt that it was difficult to manage all the things, including academics, committees, clubs, events and competitions. However my passion to perform consistently made me do well in the first year. I strive to do much better as ABG aims to deliver superior value to their customers, shareholders, employees and society at large.
