Why Aditya Birla Group is big in your life? Aditya Birla Memorial Hospital in Chinchwad (Pune) is just a few kilometers away from my house. So, whenever we have any medical emergency, we think about God and Aditya Birla Hospital to save us from such situations safely. Hence, ABG is not just BIG in my life, it has been a life savior. ABG has been affecting my life even before I knew about it. Right from shopping in Pantaloons to making the first phone call from my father’s first mobile. Aditya Birla Group has been all along with us. The first mobile phone we had was a simple black and white display handset and it had IDEA sim in it. The excitement was unimaginable. Now when I use the Latest Phones which boast about having durable screens, the real credit goes to Hindalco aluminum for making it possible. Birla copper has been instrumental in the supply of raw materials to Indian Railways which is the lifeline of every Indian especially mine whenever I have to travel in Mumbai or Pune. Nationally, the electricity grid distribution has been a major priority over the years in the government’s agenda. A well-electrified nation is a baseline for economic growth for which Grasim Industries has been contributing throughout. Road Safety has been an important issue, especially in India with poor road conditions and traffic. The research of nanotech by Birla carbon Nanotechnology in vehicle tires has helped in reducing the fatal road accidents by a large number. Being a Civil Engineering Graduate I have conducted a lot of experiments on Ultratech cement and through scientific research, I believe, Aditya Birla Group is another name for Quality and Trust. Its presence globally and philanthropic activities, Aditya Birla Group has united not only the country but the world as one. Thank you, ABG!

How you overcame challenges to achieve your ambitions in life so far? Months back, I was elected as the Secretary of Cultural Committee of my college during graduation. I was elated to receive such a big position. With enhanced job responsibilities, I was enjoying my time at my college with my friends. Unaware of the gathering storm at our Institute Headquarters, I even drafted the annual budget for upcoming events and could barely wait for the funding to come. A few days later, I reached the accounts department with a cheerful mood. The hustle and bustle in the corridor was bigger than usual. I sensed the uneasiness in the ambiance. “What happened?” I asked someone at the entrance. He looked at me with a blank face and asked “You don’t know? The Institute is in a financial crisis and we can’t sanction the events throughout the year. The news came as a jolt. We all were mindful of the worsening financial crisis, but nobody really expected this. I entered the office building and saw complete mayhem. With now no events in the picture for anybody, people were depressed about prior commitments. Amidst the on-going chaos, I kept my nerve, but things were to become worse. In the evening, I came back home and took a shower. I was feeling refreshed. At the end of the day, I thought the best thing to do was just to stand quietly in the hotel balcony and enjoy the breeze. I looked at the skyline and reminded myself that every cloud has a silver lining. I decided to not quit for some more time and plan something else out. Instead of canceling the events or brooding about the situation, I continued going to our practice rooms every day to network with seniors and others. I realized the importance of a backup plan even when everything sails smooth as life is full of chance events. An Idea struck me of crowdfunding our events. So, we all explored around the city and meet everyone if they were interested to contribute to the event and avail some special benefits in return. Ultimately, we had enough to start with, then we also got some sponsors and set up a flea market from where revenue could be generated. The profit from one event was invested in another and we had the greatest year ever in the history of our college.
