On 25th of June 2018, I started my journey of MBA in Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) New Delhi. In these 15 days, the thing which I like the most is the essence of punctuality and hard work. The journey started with a rigorous one week program named Parichay, where seniors groomed us for the upcoming months of hectic MBA life. Every raw material goes through a various level of the value chain to convert into something valuable. In IIFT, students are full of aspirations, all they need is a proper direction and training. From the very first day, we came to know how tough the upcoming weeks would be. Throughout the Parichay week, we slept about two to three hours a day and this taught me to stretch myself beyond my “limits”. I learnt a very essential trait of team building and how coordinating with our peers can make the task much easier. When we were given 20 minutes for lunch and dinner, one person ran to the mess to take lunch for 5-6 people in the team. I realized that teamwork is at the heart of the management world. Adding on to this, I learnt how to cope with deadlines and how to make the ideal use of time. I learnt this through 3 AM deadlines for assignments. During the Parichay program, we learnt marketing skills, which included field work tasks such as selling products. Also, solving real-life case studies of finances gave me a great morale. In addition to this, I also got insights regarding how your grooming and body language plays a crucial role for a positive impression. After 5 days of rigorous work, they arranged a 2-hour sports session for us which proved as a stress buster for me. What sets IIFT apart from the other B-schools is they take part in every competition and perform their level best in each of them. This might be the reason that IIFT reaches final in around 70% to 80% competitions happening all over India.  In a nutshell, I learnt that time management is a core trait every MBA graduate requires. Thus, the first week of IIFT was a clear game changer of my life and one of a kind experience. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ABG Company: The retail sector is one of the fastest growing sectors in India and around the world. According, a recent survey it could become 4-fold in the next 5 to 7 years. So, I want to work in Aditya Birla fashion and Retail limited (ABRFL). This is the sector where ABG (Aditya Birla Group) doesn’t have enough market catering and in the 4th quarter of 2017, it indicated a negative growth. Being a part of ABRFL, I can brush up my marketing skills and can prove to be a valuable asset for company growth.
