Hello, I am Garima Gupta, a first-year student at Faculty of Management Studies, Delhi. I have been here for 21 days only, but feel a sense of belongingness as if this has always been my place. Our campus is not just a normal B-school, it is ‘The Red Building of Dreams’. It is the place where dreams are fulfilled. We are a small college with a big heart. Everyone feels welcomed over here and there is a special treat for dog lovers out there.
A normal day of an FMS student starts at 8.59.59 am when he will be rushing to attend classes. Try reaching a minute late and you will have whole 1.5 hour free for yourself.
With all the lectures, assignments, case presentations, etc. we still find time for some musical activities.
We are like a little home, where everyone is involved with every other person in whatever they do. Being a small college and batch size, we are all close and know each other well. It’s like a family.
Memorable classroom experience
My memorable experience at FMS was participating in its legacy event ‘Merchants of Delhi’. It was one of its kind and the first time in my life I have done something like this. We were divided among groups of 8 people and given a nominal amount and were required to go out to the streets of Delhi and earn money in six hours. Also, we were not allowed to carry any mobile phone or wallet. Approaching random people, performing for them, dancing and singing at metro stations, selling petty items, all such activities which I have never thought I would ever do. It helped me get out of my comfort zone and bring out my inner crazy self. We also get to know each other and their skills better. It provided us with a real-life experience of sales and marketing, which would be helpful for us. People liked our efforts and even bought roses for Rupees one thousand. It was once in a lifetime experience for me.

Which ABG company would you want to work for and why?
I would like to work with Aditya Birla Capital Limited (ABCL) because I have an interest in finance and ABCL is the holding company for all financial service business of Aditya Birla Group (ABG). It would provide me with the opportunity to work across various products like project finance, corporate lending, wealth management, Insurance, etc. As it works on the concept of ‘one for all’, it would widen my area of scope to learn and would let me work with different verticals. Also, as ABG values integrity and expects the same from its employees, so it will provide me with a good working environment with colleagues having high work ethics.
