My campus is always identified differently from the rest of the B-schools.  The most unique part to which I can associate to is the bonding that the students have. Given that we are a small campus, the students run into one another very often. This makes it inevitable that if you are an outgoing person, you would know all the seniors as well as juniors besides your entire batch.

All students are also in the same boat, in terms of the long study hours, assignments, etc. The way we can relate to each other creates a bond really fast. We identify ourselves as a batch. And on hearing the name FMS, there is always a smile which emerges from within.

My campus also gives the students a feeling to manage without all the resources the entire time. We already learn management in a unique way. We make the best utilization of them without complaining or cribbing about them.

A memorable classroom experience in my B-school

We had a case study to solve in a group of 5 during one of the classes. This involved studying the case from a problem-solving perspective. While we were discussing, we were identifying the possible solutions and the root causes of it. Though it was not an easy task, I was taken aback by the fact that when so many people discuss a problem, there were so many aspects of the problem coming into light. If one would not touch on a certain aspect, there would definitely be someone who would highlight the issue.

During the final discussions, a very different aspect of the entire problem came into light. Understanding and appreciating the approach through a case study was immensely helpful. And this had been memorable in striking a chord with my understanding of a different learning experience.

Introducing - some of my crazy batchmates

The very first day I came into college, I randomly met a group of 3 other people. They were Adiba Asmat, Ashok Obhan and Bhuvan. We had a break of half an hour and we were very hungry. We had a cup of tea together and started talking. It did not seem like we met for the first time. We are still very good friends till date. Adiba Asmat is a chai freak like I am and always manages to look her best at any point in time. She is crazy in terms of always being ready for a cup of tea or be it taking a selfie anywhere.

I would like to also talk about Sonakshi with whom recently, on a good weather occasion I happened to step out for a snack meal. Aman, Arimardan and Roopali also joined in. We went for a pani-puri point but we knew it was not something we would like. All of us being interested in tea, moved to the next place. Again, being a rainy day, this was closed. Next, we moved to a Maggi point. Being a very lucky day, even that happened to be closed. Finally, we found a Maggi and a snack point opened. We rushed to it and had our little cravings fulfilled.

Working for Aditya Birla Group

I would like to work for Van Heusen. The brand has international recognition and presence. It’s journey from a top shirt brand to a 24/7 brand to that of a well defined fashion brand. The rich legacy it carries with respect to building of a brand is something I want to associate to.  I am creative, diligent and try to bring the best out of an opportunity. I believe there would be a synergy I could make adhering to the beliefs of the company. I would strive for constant innovation and making the best use of any opportunity presented to me.
