The bonhomie we share is something really unique about the Red Building of Dreams. FMS is a really cozy campus situated in the heart of Delhi University and is a great place in the way it imbibes learning process into its students. In just a few weeks, I have begun to love the diverse set of batch mates that I have here. My brilliant classmates are from all parts of the country and some even from outside the country (I met people from Madagascar and Kenya here). As an understatement, the seniors here are just amazing, how they always go the extra mile to help us, be it in content sessions or be it in canteen queues. Overall it is just like a family, the members of which are involved in a healthy competition and carry each other forward.

A memorable classroom experience in my B-school

My extended classroom is where I got a memorable experience. It was only on the last day of our induction that we were introduced to an event “Merchants of Delhi”. We, the budding marketers and entrepreneurs were sent out to make money with just a little investment money in our hands. Figuring out my USP was something new to me (as was the term). After some failed singing attempts in the metro and even worse dancing attempt at Canaught place (though we made money out of it), I finally hit my Eureka moment. I decided to play an up and coming consultant ready to solve real life problems of really tensed people. So basically I solved case interviews on suggesting the best restaurants, best shopping place, best café, and so on. Having a local friend along was a great help and was a source of information to make decisions. This exercise made me shed my inhibitions and break the barriers of communication I had always felt. It was a really great day full of fun learning.

Some of my crazy batchmates are:-

  1. Aaditya Bhale – A guy well vested in fine arts like singing, he can actually mesmerize any crowd with his vocal skills. How he captivated our classroom during the induction is still live in my memory.
  2. Komal Priya – With 3 screws in her legs, the little girl aims to startup her own venture in social adventure travelling. Determination, hard work and mental strength define her craziness to pursue her dreams.
  3. Utsav Singh – aka “chacha”, the guy sleeps like anything, be it any event or any class. Also, how he is able to complete his tasks and work at time is still a wonder to many.
  4. B.V. Avinash – Management? This is the guy who manages everything from parties to house cleaning drives to group studies, you name it. He also auctioned his Nirvana t-shirt on the streets of Delhi to raise money for a competition.
Which ABG company would you want to work for and why? The ABG Company I want to work for is Louis Philippe. It appeals to my sense of fashion and is the top selling brand at shopping chains across India. This highlights the growth it has and how I can contribute to it is by using my out of the box thinking to innovate processes. Also, the culture at ABG is what I feel is inductive to personal and professional growth, it has open door policy for better decision making and how the company invests in its employees for development and learning is a major feature of an ideal workplace for me.
