As the saying goes, MBA journey is a roller coaster ride and quite hectic especially the first term. My stay in MDI until now is characterised by nothing short of that. I can quite relate to it after one month in the campus. As I recollect my experience of the day leading up to the registration, I was filled with a rush of emotions. Delighted about starting a new phase in my life, the phase which I had eagerly craved for, I was somewhat nervous at the onset but filled with excitement. On 14th June, which was the day of the registration, I entered the MDI campus. Among the hustle and bustle of people trying to set up their things in their respective rooms, I came across many new faces. Amidst all the commotion, I also met some familiar people, those whom I had met during my interviews. As I settled in my room, I along with others were trying to speculate what’s in store for us for the Induction week, which formed a major and most important part of the one month in the campus. Coming to the Induction week, it was very hectic. It was filled with lots of activities comprising of attending guest lectures to the introductory classes to the student council sessions at night. The schedule for the induction was such that we barely managed to get 4-5 hours of sleep every day. Sometimes, we even had to skip meals in the day in order to keep pace with the schedule. The Council was continuously reminding us the code of conduct to be followed for the induction and post that. But this was just the start. Despite all these activities we had to undertake during the Induction, the one magical aspect which defines every educational institute, was missing. We were still not required to study, prepare for the class and complete assignments. This made me wonder how hectic and demanding life is going to be once the classes start, which now I feel is so true and befitting going into the 4th week of class. I would like to work for Aditya Birla Retail Limited. Given the fact that it deals in FMCG products, I feel it is in alignment with my work experience after my graduation. I have had the experience of working in a retail proprietary firm which deals in hardware and housekeeping products. This gave me an opportunity to deal with various kinds of customers in a retail firm and also assume various roles in management like marketing, operations and supply chain.
