It is my belief that challenges help a person grow and shape their personality, that is why I have always welcomed challenges instead of fearing them. In my first year of undergraduate study, as a part of the International Press in the IMUNC (International MUN Conference), I was faced with the challenge of both attending the MUN session and preparing the report of the day's deliberations in just 3 hours. With such a time crunch, it is nearly impossible to prepare a decent report, which includes writing articles based on the deliberations in the session, properly editing the same and arranging it in coherent and comprehensive manner to look like a newspaper report. Nevertheless, I did not give up. With proper planning, time management and sincerity towards the task, I quickly prepared an article on "Secularism in India" which was the core issue of the day's session and continuously worked for the remaining hours to submit my report. My dedication and hard work paid off when I was awarded "Best Reporter" award amongst the members of the International Press. This experience has had a deep impact on me and instilled confidence to tackle obstacles in my life with conviction and learn from the challenges faced. It also made me overcome my fear of public speaking and presentations further shaping my personality into a confident and avid speaker. This along with other college experiences have allowed me to obtain attributes such as self-dependence, sincerity and confidence that move towards achieving holistic growth. Thus, challenges in my life have always helped me in reaching my goal and will continue doing so.
