What started in 1963 with a modest attempt to facilitate external trade now stands as one of the pioneering Institutes in Asia Pacific promoting skills and knowledge in international trade. IIFT Delhi is the dream school for many.
Out of the 45,000 students who appeared for IIFT Entrance Exam in 2016, only 360 secured seats between both IIFT Delhi and Kolkata campuses.
Here is a brief about the financial aid available to students at IIFT.
Need Based Scholarship Scheme
For students whose annual income is less than INR 4,50,000, the Institute operates the NBSS under which it pays interest subsidy for a certain period of time on Education Loan from a bank taken by the student. Depending on the fee and other expenses, the amount of education loan is revised every year.
Central Sector Scholarship Scheme
The Ministry of Social Service and Empowerment and the Ministry of Tribal Affairs provide scholarships to 4 students each from SC and ST communities. These students are selected on the basis of merit and their applications are forwarded to the Ministries which then provide for tuition fee, living expenses, book and stationary expenses and provide each of them with the latest computer (one time).
IIFT is no IIM, and its differences make it better. A degree in International Trade offers a brilliant opportunity to make fulfilling, well-paying careers. International Trade has been growing in leaps and bounds, and if the trade is your calling, IIFT is the place to be!
