Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore boasts of some of the most diverse student profiles among b-schools in India. It is the only b-school to have featured among the Top 50 B-schools on the Financial Times Executive Education 2015 Rankings, alongside the London Business School, Harvard School of Business, University of Oxford and several others.
However, it can be on the heavy side when it comes to your pocket. Here are a few scholarships one can avail of if one makes it to IIM Bangalore.
- Aditya Birla Scholarship
Students of both first and second year are eligible for this scholarship. Moreover, students who have received this scholarship in the first year may apply for it in the next year.
Amount – INR 1.75 lakh.
Eligibility – On the basis of merit. Students need to be in the top 25% of the batch in order to get the scholarship in the second year.
- OPJEMS Scholarship
Amount – INR 1.5 lakh.
Eligibility – One student each of both first and second year.
Evaluation – On the basis of merit.
- Citi Women's Leader Award
Amount – INR 4 lakh.
Eligibility – Female students of second year who were in the top 25% of the batch at the end of first year are eligible for this scholarship.
Evaluation – Students are selected on the basis of their Statement of Purpose and interviews conducted by Citi.
- Societe Generale Global Solution Centre India Scholarship
Amount – Full tuition expenses. (Will change according to changes in tuition fee.)
Eligibility – Applicants are evaluated on the basis of need.
Evaluation – Students need to sit for an interview with Societe Generale.
- Siddhartha Padam Award
Amount - INR 50,000
Eligibility – PGP2 student.
Evaluation – Student who scores the highest marks in Economics, Finance and Accounting core courses in the first year.
6. IIMB PGP Alumni First Batch (1976) Scholarship
Amount – INR 50,000
Eligibility – Differently abled women students, and in the absence of any, differently abled male students.
7. Sir Ratan Tata Trust Scholarship
Amount – INR 1 lakh.
Eligibility – Students in the top 10% of their batch at the end of first year.
5 nominations are invited for this scholarship each year.
8. Hindustan Unilever / T Thomas Scholarship
Amount – INR 1 lakh.
Eligibility – Students in the top 25% of their batch at the end of first year.
Evaluation – HUL provides the criteria every year, subject to change. The selection is based on criteria like leadership, academic performance and business thinking.
9. Cognizant Technology Solutions-- B’izard Scholar
The B’izard scholarship is awarded to students of exceptional academic and leadership achievements and scholarly promise, who are committed to serving their communities and for whom further study in management would be particularly appropriate.
Amount – INR 3 lakh for the winner, INR 2 lakh for the first runner-up, and INR 1 lakh for the second runner-up.
10. Ocwen Financial Solutions Private Limited
Amount – INR 1.8 lakh.
Evaluation – Students are evaluated on the basis of the research paper submitted by them.
11. Runwal Education Trust Scholarship
Amount – INR 1 lakh.
Eligibility – PGP2 student.
Evaluation – Students are evaluated on the basis of a combination of academic performance in the 1st year and the student’s financial need.
12. Yes Bank Scholarship
Amount – INR 2 lakh.
Eligibility – Students in the top 20% of the batch based on the current CGPA and are members of at least one student committee.
13. NTPC Scholarship
Amount – INR 48,000
Eligibility - Students who belong to SC/ST/PwD categories and are in their second year of management studies, having passed the first-year examination in one attempt, are eligible for the scholarship.
