Top 6 MBA Scholarships In India

  1. Aditya Birla Scholarship:

    For whom:
    This scholarship is for both first-year and second-year students.

    Who’s eligible?
    Students of IIMs - Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Kolkata, Lucknow, Indore, Kozhikode, Shillong, and XLRI Jamshedpur.

    Application Procedure:
    Students who are eligible are required to fill in the application form appended alongside and submit to the Dean. (The top 20 students - in terms of their entrance exam ranking at the time of admission - are invited to apply through the Dean of the respective institutes.)

    Amount received: 
    You get INR 1,75,000 per annum.

  2. National Handicapped Finance and Development Corporation.

    For whom:
    As the name suggests, this scholarship is only for handicapped students as provided by the government set-up body, NHFDC.

    Who’s eligible:
    Visually and hearing impaired, and orthopedically challenged students pursuing studies from a recognised institute are eligible for this scholarship. 30% scholarships are reserved for girls. (2500 scholarships are given every year.)

    Application Procedure:
    Application in enclosed prescribed format shall be submitted at any time during an academic year to the assigned agency. Renewal of the scholarship is in next year subject to successful completion of the course in the previous year.

  3. OPJEMS Scholarship (OP Jindal Engineering and Management Scholarships)

    For whom:
    This scholarship is open only to the first 10 toppers of the 2nd year based on their performance in the first year of regular PGDM/ MBA.

    Who’s eligible:
    Students of FMS, Delhi, MDI, Gurgaon, Jindal Global Business School, IIM Lucknow, IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Indore, XLRI Jamshedpur, SP Jain Institute of Management & Research, IIM Bangalore, IIM Calcutta, IIM Kozhikode, IIM  Ranchi, IIM Raipur, IIM Rohtak, JBIMS  Mumbai, IIFT Delhi

    Application procedure:
    Fill the form available on the website and appear for an online test, followed by a personal interview to gain advantage of the scholarship.

    Amount received: 
    INR 1, 25, 000, along with a Silver Medallion and a merit certificate.

  4. Citi Women's Leader Award:
    For whom:
    First-year women candidates are invited to apply for the program.

    Who’s eligible:
    Students of IIM-B, IIM-C, IIM-L, IIM-K, FMS, IIFT, ISB, JBIMS, MDI, SP Jain, TISS & XLRI.

    Application procedure:
    The candidates go through a rigorous selection procedure. First comes an essay competition, followed by the submission of a case study solution. The winners are flown to Mumbai for an intensive two-day final event which decides the winners of the scholarship.

    Amount received:

  5. Societe Generale Global Solution Centre India Scholarship

    For whom:
    Students studying in leading management schools of  India.

    Who’s eligible:
    There is no list of colleges whose students may apply, but in the past, students from IIM Bangalore; IIM Ahmedabad; IIM Tiruchirappalli; and Indian School of Business, Hyderabad.

    Application procedure:
    Selection on the basis of nomination by institutes.

    Amount received: 
    Not revealed.

  6. Sir Ratan Tata Trust Scholarship:

    For whom:
    Second-year students who are in the top 10% of their batch at the end of their first-year studies.

    Who’s eligible:
    Students of MBA colleges in India. There are separate scholarships for girls. There is no specific list of colleges which may apply for this scholarship.

    Application procedure:
    Since 2015, students may not directly apply for this scholarship, only their institutes may apply on their behalf.

    Amount received: 
    The amount awarded as the loan scholarship ranges between Rs.1,00,000/- and Rs.10,00,000/-.
