How the Aditya Birla Group makes a big difference. Aditya Birla Group is an Indian multinational conglomerate that is present in 35 countries with more than 120,000 employees worldwide. It had a revenue of approximately US$44.3 billion in the year 2018. ABG is not about making money but it devotes itself towards sustainable development of the lower sections of society and improving the country’s human development index. It has also set high standards for its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). They transcend the conventional boundaries of business because they care. For over 50 years now, the Aditya Birla Group has engaged in impactful, welfare-driven activities in India and globally. In many ways, it has not only marked a huge impression globally but also helped in assisting many lives and my life is one among them. Aditya Birla Group has contributed to every industry, be it fashion, retail or E-Commerce. We are also very much related to this group, my favorite brands are Allen Solly, Forever 21 and Van Heusen which is all a part of this group. The Vision and Mission of ABG are to be a premium global conglomerate with a clear focus on each of the businesses and to deliver superior value to our customers, shareholders, employees, and society at large. They have accomplished this in so many ways, Aditya Birla Group is an inspiration to each and every induvial. Kumar Mangalam said, “Our values provide us with our roots and they provide us with our wings.”  I reiterate this as living by our values means growing at a slower pace so be it.   How to deal with challenges Often times, as soon as something goes wrong or a challenge appears in our life, all of our attention is placed primarily on whatever the issue or challenge is. I think back to the last time something came up in my life that was a challenge or an issue. I think about a big challenge, like something that just caught me off guard and caused a major change in my life. I also think of a smaller issue, like someone pushing my buttons or saying something that was inappropriate. Then I ask myself how did I handle those situations? My immediate reaction was an emotional one that is being upset by what happened and focus entirely on how I could get rid of the issue but then my mentor told me there is nothing wrong in doing that but we should manage the problems with the best mindset and perspective.  By doing this we have a clear mind and can calmly decide on what our next step should be to get the best results. He told me that often it is necessary and important to know the root cause of the problem and not run looking for the solution of the problem that is knowing the formulation of the problem is more important than the solution. It is very challenging to always react calmly to situations, especially with those that upset you. I generally give myself a little pat on the back and credit for not allowing any negative emotions to take over and respond to the situation in the best way.
