Section 377, an Indian penal code introduced in 1861 during the British Rule in India. This stated that "Sexual activities against the order of nature is illegal". That is love and marriage between same gender people are considered illegal. We all know that love is a feeling which never shows any discimination. It can happen to any person of any gender, any age. But the 100 years of following the rule and stating that going against the order of nature is not traditional was really wrong. The true meaning of love is not properly approached because of the restrictions of Section 377.
On September 6th 2018, the application of Section377 was ruled out by the Supreme Cout of India by stating consensual homosexual sex between adults was unconstitutional, irrational. The judges bench who gave the judgement consisted of five members: Chief Justice of India Dipak Misra, Justices R F Nariman, D Y Chandrachud, A M Khanwilkar and Indu Malhotra. Disturbing the tradition followed for so many years was a challenge and because of this there was so much of opposition and criticism. Even few of the people were against because they thought there might be a chance of bad impact on the efforts put forth for stopping the spread of HIV/AIDS.
According to my opinion even though there was lot of negativity at the first ,we can say that few steps were taken towards the progress of the modern society without keeping any restrictions to the LGBTQ section of people. India, with a diversified traditions and culture there might be huge number of different opinions. But, the opportunity to celebrate love by each and every person must not be restricted by any law or any person's thought.
