Why Aditya Birla Group is big in my life?
With a portfolio of 36 companies spanning across 14 industry sectors, the Aditya Birla Group has touched mine as well as 133 crores of other Indians' lives in some way or the other. The group, which was started 90 years before independence, currently operates in 35 countries and has emerged as a premium global conglomerate. Keeping values of integrity, commitment, passion, seamlessness and speed at heart, it has been able to deliver superior value to all its stakeholders including shareholders, employees, customers and society at large. I am fortunate enough to be a part of the last two sub-groups and can confidently say that ABG adds a lot of value in my life.
While being a regular customer of 6 ABG brands, I am accustomed to more than 15 ABG brands. This in itself is a testimony of the fact that ABG is really big in my life. One of the most important need of any human being’ life is clothing and I can proudly say that, for me, this need is exclusively fed by various brands of ABG including Forever 21, Pantaloons, Planet Fashion and Allen Solly. While helping me stay up to date with the global fashion trends, these brands deliver stylish and innovative classics at reasonable prices. Talking about the metal flagship company of ABG, Hindalco, it operates across the aluminum value chain. Since the time I started going to school, I have been a regular consumer of Hindalco Freshwrapp aluminum foil which makes sure that the packed food stays fresh and hygienic. Being a Vodafone customer since I first started using a mobile phone, I feel content that it became a part of the ABG group as it merged with Idea, creating the #1 telecom company in India.
On the sustainability and social responsibility front, ABG operates numerous schools, hospitals and academies in its endeavor to make a difference in the lives of the underprivileged. Thus, it tries to reach out to every single one of us in some or the other way, making way for the equitable development of the country.
How have I made an impact?
"A pessimist sees the difficulty in every opportunity; an optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty." Winston S. Churchill
I have been lucky enough to lead a relatively simple and smooth life until now. However, I always try and make sure that I seize every opportunity that I get, even if the odds of doing the same are against me.
I dreamt of joining SRCC since the day I opted for Commerce and worked in day & night to get into it. However, thanks to the sky-high Delhi University cut-offs, I could only manage to get into a south campus college, even after scoring 95.17%. Thus, I had an option of either staying near to my hometown in Punjab, pursuing graduation in one of the local colleges or get into a Delhi University college which wasn’t one the topmost colleges, but promised a decent level of exposure. I, being an optimist, decided to go with the latter, while keeping in mind that I’ll bag every opportunity that comes my way and make the best use of whatever I have. It has been a year since I graduated and I can proudly say that I was excel in every field, while I was at college. From being the department topper to bagging the best campus placement, I made sure that I worked on every facet of my personality, one at a time. Thus, whenever a window of opportunity is available, instead of pulling down the shade, I always prefer pulling it up, thus trying to witness the sunshine of life
