Since my childhood, I was always told the importance of academics and how it was a major part of shaping a person’s life. Since then, I had an influence towards achieving the same. But the journey was never easy. There were few instances when I used to face difficulty in studies. At a tender age of 8 years, I had to devote extra time to studies and extra classes and sacrifice on my playing time. It was really difficult to do that at that point of time and it felt like early life crisis. I only had one thought in mind that one day I would not have to do this and I would be at par in studies with my friends in school.
One more such incident was when I was preparing for my 10
th Board exams. Waking up early, attending early morning classes and then attending school and again attending tuition in evening and completing homework only to sleep and wake up again next morning. This schedule had become a routine for me and I had only one thing in mind that with each passing day, it is going to lead me to something better. I had become a horse with its binders on.
Although difficult, but times like these have always been the best part of my life. It made me realize that hard work gives me sheer pleasure and it is because of this I have been able to learn and grow and discover my potential.
It was 2015 when my mother asked me to collect information for investment in mutual funds. I was just in my 1
st year of graduation and had least information about investments in funds. I visited few banks and got information about funds along with their brochures. One of them was of “Birla Sun Life Asset Management” which had funds of different categories for investors having different requirements. We were a first time investor with many financial goals accompanied by limited amount of knowledge of stock markets. So, investing in mutual fund scheme of now known as Aditya Birla Sun Life Asset Management marks as a day of enlightenment for our family. It gave an opportunity to even small investors like us to know about mutual funds and allow us to invest in them depending on our financial goals. It was one step forward towards financial freedom.
In February 2019, I was going to appear for interviews of different B Schools as a part of admission process. I had to buy a formal suit and had to make sure that I carry the formal look confidently. I came across multiple brands but was not sure which brand to go with. Peter England was a brand that I had heard of but never tried before and I thought that it was time to shift to a reliable brand especially for business suits. The Peter England formal suit marks as the beginning of my journey towards B School as well as one step closer towards a career in corporate.
These two instances have been very important in my life, since investing in mutual funds has led me to discover my passion of having a career in stock market and the business suit gave me an opportunity to represent myself and what I wanted in my life.
