Business school!
“It's a place where not just the fittest survives, but the most prudent one conquers this wilderness and walks into future, with a high chin. The journey is long and the terrain difficult.”
These were the things which we imprinted in our minds before actually joining a management course. However, the transition in the emotions, thoughts of me and the people around me has been confounding.
“These two years, will be the best and most exciting ones of your life. You might just regret that that it got over so soon. They would be extremely fruitful in transforming you, while you are going miss campus every time you go home. You would definitely would want to keep coming back to campus to relive your memories.”
The lustreless passageway is giving way to the coveted yet promising place, he takes a right turn. At a distance, dull and dim walls create interesting shadows. Men go a far way to obtain what they desire. But they travel even more for what creates curiosity in their minds. He somehow felt that the shadows imbibed several stories and exuberant tales- witnessed over the years. His fascination led him to leave his tasks and instead go ahead to explore. When he finally reached the spot, he stood pondering at those shadows. Figures, texts, codes, symbols- all represented something, personifying the walls to deliver their own story. It goes from wacky paintings from the left to crazy slogans on the right. He sees an UFO bringing aliens as well as the uncanny doodles gleaming from ear to ear. Spirited and ebullient, the shapes are creating a persona that makes him feel special and welcome. He suddenly doesn’t need to miss home as he realises he is now a part of the family. A new and bigger family!
Well, as a family we know each other’s secrets and these pictures were exactly that, here. He smiles vividly and leaves knowing he will be back here and that too soon. It was a utopian place for him, at least for fun and frolic!
This place will offer him solace yet fun, both at hectic times and difficult decisions.
When the future doesn't seem so bright,
Whether one should Dream Big or Dream Right?
There's a plethora of opinions, but no definite answer.
They say, you can become anything , a singer, a poet, or a dancer.
But is it even true?
That after putting in everything one has,
And not surrender,
Will she reach her star or just get trapped under.
One wonders.
There are others, who say you can compromise;
Take what you can get and be wise.
This world is cut-throat, where dog-eat-dog.
You might miss the opportunity to have a stable job.
And then there's the student, still optimistic, and full of dreams,
Entering this world seeing everything being green.
Until troubled by this very thought.
Which is not that bad because it gives him the drive,
To take control of his life and thrive.
Find his own identity, his Raison d'être,
And to strive through failures and become strong.
To not get disheartened at rejections,
And to beat every objection.
There is light at the end of the tunnel, scorching bright,
Whether to dream big or to dream right?
College, the first place away from the protective eyes of one's parents (at least, for freshers like me) and out of the confined boundaries of school helps one gain a deeper perspective about themselves.
This freedom is definitely worth finding who you actually are!
