My name is Maharshi Nagori, and this is my interview experience for SJMSOM, IIT Bombay.
This year the interviews were held online because of the COVID situation. But the entire process was very smooth. We had student coordinators, who were there to help us the entire time. For the interview, we had to log in to gather our platform and report to our designated tables. The demo for the platform was given to us on YouTube by the admissions committee. This made sure that there were no misunderstandings on the day of the interview.
My interview was on March 2nd, and the slot given to me was the 2nd slot. And the time range was from 1:15 PM to 6:00 PM.We were given table numbers, to which we had to report. My table number was 14. Once I reported to my table, I was told to wait till my turn came for document verification. Then I was told to go for document verification at the document verification counter. Once I reached the counter, the student coordinator connected with me over Zoom. There, details of my original documents were compared to the scanned documents, which I uploaded to Google Forms, which were shared with us to collect our information. Once my document verification was done, I was told to go back and wait at my designated table till I was called for my interview.
When my turn came, I was asked to go to the interview room. Once I went there, I joined the Zoom meeting for my interview. There was a student coordinator in the waiting room where we had to wait before the interview started. He was very friendly and was trying to calm the students before the interview. I also had a discussion with him even after the interview, and he tried to help me with points which I should consider while choosing a B school.
When my interview started, there were 3 panellists. Two of them were professors, one male and one female. And the third one was a male alumni. The interview started on a positive note. First the panel introduced themselves, and then I was asked to give my short introduction, to which I gave my well prepared answer. After I gave my introduction, most of the questions in that interview revolved around my work. I was asked questions about every aspect of my work I mentioned in my introduction. Most of the discussion revolved around it. Then, at the end, they asked some current affairs questions, and after that, they requested me to leave as they were done with the interview.
Over all, the entire process was very smooth and student coordinators and panellists were quite polite and helpful. I converted the call and am now a member of SJMSOM.
