To appear for the SJMSOM PI process, a separate application is required to be filled along with the CAT score. Candidates get shortlisted based on the CAT score and overall profile. I got the communication from the Institute in the mid of February 2021.

The Gather Fun
The process was mainly held online on the Gather platform to give potential candidates the feel of real interviews during this pandemic (probably the most unique interview experience I had this season). This game-like experience helped a lot to reduce anxiety.
The Personal Interview
The Personal Interview was held on a zoom call which one had to enter via the Gather platform. My panel consisted of three interviewers (1 Professor (P1) and 2 Alumni (P2 and P3)). The greetings were exchanged followed by questions listed below –
P1 (smiling): Hi Praveen, tell us something about yourself.
P1: You said you used to run a web-development startup. What services were provided by you??
P1: Which programming language do you code in?
P1: How you decide which language use is there any specifics technique?
P1: You said you were the technical lead of your college Cells. What were your responsibilities?
P1: What is RoverCliff (one of my startups)?
P2: What are Compiler and Interpreter?
P2: Is complier better than interpreter?
P2: What is your hobby?
P2: Why you want to do MBA if like to code?
P3: Praveen you are from Kolkata, how is political weather there?
P3: What is your take on freebies offered by political parties if they win?
P3: That's all, do you have any questions for us?
Overall Experience
From supportive AdCom members to easy-going panelists followed by the never forgettable Gather platform, SJMSOM was one of the best interview experiences of the season.
Final result
Got an admission offer from SJMSOM.
