Why Aditya Birla Group is big in my life? The answer to this question can be a countless number of reasons, because of the large number of segments ABG operates in, as well as the wide variety of products and services the companies of Aditya Birla Group offer.
The influence and existence of Aditya Birla Group in our day to day life can be understood from the following statement that "Aditya Birla Group is present in our everyday life, starting from the clothes we wear, to the roads we walk on.”
Ultratech, Grasim, Indian Aluminum Company Ltd., Aditya Birla Nuvo and Idea Cellular Ltd., which are a notable few among the many companies, which are a part of Aditya Birla Group.
Aditya Birla Group has always played an important part in my life, but it was only a few years back that I came to realize this.
The first-ever instance when I felt proud was when I had won a scholarship from a state-level competition and with the prize money I had received, I wanted to put it to good use. The younger me was a girl who idolized her father from the beginning and appreciated him a lot, for being the protective and caring figure that he is, and so naturally I wanted to gift him something as a token of appreciation. So, I decided to visit the nearest Louis Philippe store, along with my mother and buy a shirt for my father. It might be a very small thing for others, but for me, it was my moment of pride. Needless to say, the smile on my father's face and the pride in his eyes was worth it. And to this day, it has been a driving force for me to achieve my goals. So, in a way, ABG has given me a sense of pride and happiness in my life.
Challenges are meant to become the guiding light in the journey of life. Everybody goes through challenges and overcomes them, but the point of differentiation comes up when one learns something from it and moves ahead. I being an individual underwent many challenges and have learnt some very valuable lessons from it.
The most important and recent learning of my life has been, getting into a premier B-School. I was a student at IGIT, Sarang. I always had my passion for technology, hence I pursued electrical engineering. During my final year in IGIT, I was stuck in a dilemma about, what to pursue in the future. I had landed a job in TCS and I wanted to pursue an MBA at the same time too.
Finally, I decided to pursue an MBA. Then came down the roll of challenges of preparing for an MBA, finding the correct tutor and more. I took it upon me, to prepare for the entrance exams while doing my daily studies side by side. Then, came the CAT day I gave the exam as per self-preparation. When I saw the released answer key and discovered the areas that still required work. So, learning from this CAT challenge, I worked hard towards the upcoming entrance exams like XAT. Finally, when the day for XAT exam came, I appeared for the exam, and gave my best. I got 94 percentile marks and got into XIMB, my dream business school.
This helped me learn that challenges come as a part of life from which a lot of valuable lessons can be learnt. This CAT challenge and overcoming it helped me earn my place at XIMB.
