When I hear the name Aditya Birla Group a wide range of pictures flash in front of my eyes. I see a big conglomerate which has pretty much mastered every industry it has touched upon, and hence it is almost practically impossible for somebody living in India to not have come across a single product from the group and my story isn’t any different. Right from my house that was built from the very cement that stands strong in the group to the aluminium foil of Freshwrapp that kept the food warm while I was travelling, it has touched my life on so many levels. Almost all aspects of my life have been connected by Aditya Birla Group. The one that has almost saved my life would have to be the Aditya Birla Health Insurance. I am usually very reluctant in investing in securities, and the health insurance fell in the same category since I assumed myself to be perfectly fit and fine, but after constant push from my family I finally succumbed and after careful research found Aditya Birla Health Insurance as the one viable option. And not long after that I had taken up the insurance, I fell sick with Jaundice. If it weren’t for the health insurance, I definitely would have ended up emptying my pockets and probably borrowing money from my parents. But thanks to the insurance, I escaped without any scars except for the ones left from Jaundice.
In the little time I’ve had on this planet, I’ve tried to do my bit whenever the opportunity has presented itself and never shied away from going an extra mile. Some have been as small as offering food to the people in need while others have been volunteering for social causes. But one story that stands out in my head is when I helped the daughters of our house help through their board exams. Our house help, Dinesh, has been around our family for as long as I can remember and he has been extremely helpful and loyal in throughout his time with us. I just wanted to pay him back in whichever way I could and the best way I thought would be to help prepare his daughters for the future. He doesn’t earn a lot and it’s difficult for him to provide quality education for his daughters and I wanted nothing but the best for these guys and for them to have an equal and fighting chance to decide the direction of their future. I decided to bear the cost for their education and get them admitted to a good private school. But just giving monetary benefit wasn’t enough as I knew they would face various challenges from moving to a more competitive environment. I gave classes to both of them, one of whom just gave her board exams. Every day after work I devoted at least an hour of my time to help them with their studies or whatever challenges they were facing. It might not seem like a big impact but when Nishu got 85% in her boards, I could almost feel my eyes tearing up. I know for a fact I won’t stop here keep doing my bit one step at a time.
