When I was pursuing my third year of Engineering, then and there itself I had decided to go for an MBA immediately after completing my graduation. However, the path was not that easy. Being substantially good in studies right from childhood, I was good in my engineering subjects too. When the thought of enrolling into a Business School right after Engineering was put forward by me (which is not at all out of the World and many people opt for the same), it wasn’t very well received by the folks around me which included my friends, teachers and relatives. They had their own reasons to believe that I was going ahead with a wrong decision. While some told me to stay because I was good in the domain, some just because they thought I had paid huge amounts of money as college fees and may be a job after degree can bring them back. But this, In fact, wasn’t the real challenge. In my final year of graduation, I prepared for MBA Entrance Exams in the free time which I could get. Very well I knew that my preparation wasn’t sufficient to get me into a good college and neither was I able to prepare to my fullest. The average level result in entrances was again a black dot on my decision. I knew I had to prove myself and instead of opting for placements and getting a job, I decided to do a comprehensive preparation for the entrance exams by studying at home. Again, this step had its own repercussions. More over competing for a National Level Exam was a bigger challenge. So, I decided to struggle my way out by preparing as good as I could, enough to make me capable of performing well in the exam and scoring a great percentile. Finally, the results were out and I made it to a good college. I overcame my challenges because I had self – reliance, I got myself committed to achieve my targets and no doubt I consistently kept on with my aim.
