NITIE kicks off its annual fest “Avartan 2017” with a bang with Ms Smriti Mandhana of Indian Women’s Cricket Team inaugurating the event. Smriti is known not only for her cricketing prowess but also for her compassionate behaviour. The left-handed bats-women played a very important role in helping India reach the finals in the recently held Women’s World Cup. Though India narrowly missed the title but definitely won the hearts of billions of people. In a short address to NITIE, Smriti mentioned that she became fascinated by the lush and green campus of NITIE and inspired the students to take up sports as well as to be fit.
