Let’s take a detailed look at each section. Verbal ability: The section is dominated by Easy- Medium difficulty Vocab Questions. You will also see a lot of questions on Error spotting & sentence correction questions.
Sub-Section Nos. of Qs Special Preparation Required
RC 7 None
Vocab 20 Idioms ( 4 Qs) , Spellings (2 Qs)
Grammar 12 Parts of Speech, Figures of Speech
Parajumbles 1 None
Quantitative ability : Students who fear Quant section ( of CAT/ NMAT/IIFT) will rejoice when they see Quant section of SNAP. It is the easiest quant section you will see ( along with MH-CET) Focus Areas : Time & Work : Around 8-10 questions Geometry : Around 7 questions. ( special focus on Mensuration) Percentage Based Questions : i.e. Profit Loss ,Mixtures, Ratios etc Data Sufficiency : Not asked for the last 2 years but it pays to be prepared. The skill required is not to get stuck with a few difficult questions that get thrown in as ‘speed breakers’. If you can identify those and skip them, you can easily attempt 30+ questions in the section. Note : DI ( 4-5 questions) were asked in the Logic section in SNAP 2013. In 2012, they were asked in the Quant section. Overall, level of DI was very easy. Logical Reasoning: This section consists of questions that carry two marks each and hence it is the ‘make or break’ section of SNAP. It consists of questions on blood relations, arrangements, logical puzzles, visual reasoning, critical reasoning, deductions and analogies. The difficulty level of this part of the test is average. General awareness: This section is relatively the most difficult section of the paper. It has questions from just about every area one can think of. It consists of current affairs, politics, sports, business, brands, various awards & recognitions etc. It has 5-6 sitters. The rest will require special preparation J Test taking strategy : It is suggested that you get done with GK in the first 10 mins of the test. Since Logic has the maximum weightage, majority of the time should be devoted to Logic. Depending on your strength & comfort, quant and verbal can be taken as your third/fourth section. Remember , there are no sectional cut-offs to meet.
