Aditya Birla is one of the biggest conglomerates in the world. One can confidently say that the name and brand resonate greatly between the citizens of India and the world.  A lot of their products have played a part in my life. Ask a person who lives on the street what heaven is, he will tell you it’s having a home to live in. A few years back we had to build a new home in Chennai. This was relatively close to the beach as well. Keeping in mind all the disasters that could happen, we started looking for an excellent and durable cement brand. Its pretty obvious that cement is the foundation of a building and its strength. After careful research and deliberation, we chose to go with Ultratech cement. The house has seen the worst of tsunamis and cyclones but still stands tall!

Being someone who loves to shop, Aditya Birla Group has definitely played its part. Pantaloons is one of my favourite and definite go to shops. With an excellent collection of dresses at affordable prices, this one is hard to miss out.  Planet Fashion is another place where all the men in our family go to when there is shopping to be done. Idea cellular is the largest mobile network in India and the 3rd largest in the world. I was an Aircel user initially. However, after the downfall of the same, It was Vodafone Idea that allowed me to quickly port my sim and get me back on track. With over 1.2 Billion people in the country, ABG has definitely not just helped individuals and families, but society at large too. They have also been involved in a lot of social responsibility platforms which help and aid a lot of people. I am someone who’s always believed that nothing is really ours. There is so much that we owe back to the society and the less fortunate. Aditya Birla Group does just that. Using their cement to build small houses and pits, helping villages with roof top harvesting and setting up woman and children development camps.  Setting up medical camps and schools in villages is something that shows the heart of this big MNC conglomerate.  Focusing a lot on sustainability, I feel they are being realistic and concerned for the upcoming generations.  I can very confidently say that Aditya Birla Group played a crucial part not just in my life but in 1.2 billion lives as well. Personally, I have faced many challenges that I've been able to overcome. From a very young age I’ve been exposed to values such as perseverance, focus and hard work. I’ve also realized this one very simple yet powerful saying – ‘Life is not a bed of roses'.
I grew up in Singapore and went to a government institute. Unfortunately, I was the only brown kid in school. Every day I came home I would cry and tell my mother that nobody liked me and I had no friends. I used to tell my mother to come and talk to everyone there and she would always tell me that I had to deal with my own challenges in life. I tried everyday to be nice to everyone. Eventually, they started reciprocating as well. When I left Singapore, I had made a lot of friends and lovely memories. This particular incident happened when I was very young and has shaped me in ways I cannot imagine. Ever since I was 14 years old, I have been having wheezing problems. This made it very hard for me to get into sports. In school, one particular sport that I remember is the ‘Matheletes’. It basically puts two different and contrasting subjects into one – Mathematics and athletics. Being someone who loved math and logic this event was mine to win. But athletics means that I’ll have to run and that reminded me of my medical condition. I however did not want to lose this opportunity and decided that I would have to conquer my weakness.  I started working out and practicing yoga regularly. This helped me keep my breath under control. I took part in the event. Our team didn’t win, but I had faced yet another challenge that I never thought I would. I did my Electrical and Electronics Engineering and realized half way through that I wanted to do an MBA. I gave the exam and cleared the interview for NMIMS. Being from a family that feels that PG is not really a necessity for a woman, I battled through a lot of opinions and comment. With my family by my side, I proved that I could do it and here I am working towards my ambition! #NMIMSMumbai #ABGLPWooMe
