What makes IIM Kashipur’s campus unique and stand out from its peers is its location. Being the only IIM set in a rural setting it affords its student's certain advantages inside and outside the campus. The campus itself is spread out over 200 acres in the beautiful escort farm.
IIM Campus by its self is very luxurious. The moment you enter the campus you notice the green gardens all around which give the feeling of being one with nature. The campus has various amenities such as a Basketball court, tennis court, an open-air amphitheater, hostels and the academic block. A big advantage that IIM Kashipur has is that the professors also reside on the campus which is a great opportunity for the students to interact with them, get their difficulties solved and have their mental horizons widened.
IIM Kashipur is the only IIM where the mess is run by the students itself and hence you can be sure to find some delicious meals here. MBA at an IIM being a fully residential programme peer learning plays a big role in your education. This peer learning is facilitated by having very good facilities for the hostel. Here A single hostel floor is shared only by 6 students. Each student gets a single occupancy room with attached bathroom. Each hostel floor has a washing machine and dryer, microwave, RO purifier and a common room! The entire floor is cooled using a radiant cooling method which along with keeping rooms cool is also environmentally friendly.
Education for the students lies not only within the campus but are all around it. The institute is located in one of the most densely industrialized regions in the country with over 180 industries having plants in and around the region and many more coming up. This opens up a lot of opportunities for the students as they get an opportunity for frequent industry interactions and live projects.
The institute is the only IIM set in a rural setting. This provides students of this college with unique opportunity to study from this rich rural demographic by doing market research, market analysis etc and understanding needs of this sector of the society
India is a largely agrarian country, IIM Kashipur’s proximity to fertile land and farming is a big advantage to all the future managers that study here as they can learn from problems which exist in this sector. It is also surrounded by agriculturally fertile land where farmers grow a variety of crops such as rice, wheat, sugarcane, mango, guava, jamun, jackfruit, and litchi.
Life at MBA college is very hectic, therefore IIM Kashipur’s close proximity to hill stations such as Nainital, Bhimtal etc act not only as a refreshing break for the students but also breath-taking views there give inspiration to students to work for excellence.
