Quite recently, a volleyball tournament was held by B-sportive - the sports committee of IFMR GSB at Krea University - on the 28th and 29th of August. I was a part of the team named 'Desert Roses' that by the end of the day on the 30th of August, ended up winning the tournament. Ironically, when the tournament started and before, we as a team had never played together. We would keep telling each other all through the game, "Guys, keep it simple and easy", despite my teammate's attempt to land a smash multiple times (one of which actually did pan out) - also he will kill me when he reads this. Maybe it was the motto that got us through till the finals.
The competition was tough. Most matches were won with a small margin, and they were all action-packed. But what fascinated most of us was how, a bunch of 10 people here at IFMR GSB could come together and enjoy the camaraderie of being a team, irrespective of the results. Perhaps what mattered to us most was the fact that every single person involved had the most fun one could have.
Sports committee -if you are reading this - thanks for making this possible. You guys gave us a two-day respite from the jam-packed schedule of the MBA. An experience that you usually wouldn't get anywhere else but during the happening life of a B-school. I'm brimmed with excitement thinking about the experiences that further await me. My only regret was only when it was all over.
