Aditya Birla Group is one of the most revered Business Conglomerates of India who are known for their presence in multiple industries like metals, cement, retail, fashion, garments, telecom and BPO. Aditya Birla Group has touched all of our lives in one way or another. Some we might be aware of and some we are not.
But what Aditya Birla Group means to me is the way it has added the extra bit of simplicity into my life. Beginning with retail outlets like Pantaloons where I do most of my shopping to a one stop retail outlet MORE where our family does their monthly grocery purchase, Aditya Birla's retail has never let me down.
Brands like Louie Philippe, Allen Solly and Van Heusen are the ones I associate myself with the most. The kind of fashion experience that these brands project is just the way I see myself. Also being a Civil Engineer and Urban Planner by profession, I have used and recommended the use of Ultratech Cement in the projects that I was mostly associated with. The trust that this brand of cement creates is next to no other. Be it the clients or the contractor or even for that matter the laborer, Ultra Tech cement is known to all for the integrity that it has always pioneered.
All that being said, Aditya Birla Group has made an impact in my life. The conglomerate is just the way that I see myself, as a strong, independent and trust worthy individual with a sense of simplicity.
Life is indeed full of surprises. Barely anyone will have a second opinion to that. We experience moments of ultimate happiness even from the smallest of things and at the same time perish under the burden of grief and self doubt when things don't work according to our plans.
A famous quote from the movie Rocky VI said "It's not about how hard you hit, but it's about how hard you get hit and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done." Similarly we all face our times of doubts and difficulties that make us feel worthless and this is the time that we have to take a call from within. A similar incident happened to me when I was in the final year of my post graduation. I had to submit the brief of my thesis. I had worked hard upon the project. But incidentally the panel didn't approve of it as they felt that the project had no scope whatsoever. One of the panelists and the then HOD was an eminent personality of the Indian Urban Planning domain.
I was heart broken and didn't know what to do and how to restart my entire work. With inputs from my project guide, I started working again. Time being a constraint, I had to work day and night. In the meantime I had to learn an entirely different software from my friends as I had no exposure to that software. I took help from my peers, visited government offices in and around my project area and in the end submitted my thesis just at the right time, when my batchmates were asking for extension.
I believed that I had done decent work, but my confidence increased when my thesis was selected in the finals of the "Best Thesis Competition" organised by the Institute of Town Planners India, Madhya Pradesh. I gave my presentation in front of eminent personalities from the government, academia and the industry. My thesis was adjudged 2nd in the state of Madhya Pradesh. My efforts had finally found fruition.
The same panel that had rejected my work was now proud of me. They congratulated me and that gave me a sense of achievement. I understood the underlying strength that I had, that could keep me going when the times were tough and everything was just blank. I was extremely proud of myself as an individual.
