As soon as one thinks of a b-school, the mind is flooded with images of books, laptops and highly competitive students, all willing to excel. Nobody really associates fashion with a B school. That stigma was broken for me when I came to IIFT. Given the busy schedule we have here at IIFT, nobody spends hours picking out his or her outfits, but IIFT has its own style statement, which is unique and somewhat humorous.
While someone with an early morning guest lecture is rushing to the auditorium in his/ her Van Heusen blazer, Louis Philippe shirt and Allen Solly trousers, someone else with the first lecture off would be having a relaxing breakfast in the mess in his/her comfortable pajamas from Pantaloons.
When we’re instructed to arrive for batch meets and knowledge sessions in ‘smart casuals’, it is not uncommon to see a Ted Baker bag or a Hackett London t-shirt from time to time.
From outside, IIFT Delhi might look like the runway for Van Heusen Autumn/ Winter, 2018, but once the blazers come off, everyone has their own style statement. Some prioritize comfort while others are a little more conscious about their appearance. Either way, everyone here at IIFT uses fashion as a way to express himself or herself.
I, personally suffer from fashion mood swings. At times, I plan my outfit to the minutest details the previous at night and other times I do not even attempt to match my pajamas to my t-shirt.
While I purchase and wear numerous brands, Forever 21 is one brand I stay extremely loyal to. I have been a Forever 21 customer since they opened their first outlet ever in India at Ambience Mall, Vasant Kunj, New Delhi way back in 2010. With every new collection of theirs, my style has evolved from punk rock to boho chic to sporty casuals at present. More than eighty-five percent of my wardrobe consists of Forever 21 apparel. I am the walking, talking, unpaid mannequin for Forever 21.

Which ABG Company would you want to work for?
If given a chance, I would like to work at Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Limited, particularly Forever 21. Being a BCom graduate, I have sufficient knowledge of finance and would like to work in that department. I have internship experience in taxation and can handle that division relatively well. Working at Aditya Birla Group would be like a dream come true for me, like any other MBA student!
