Preparation Strategy:

Getting selected in Aditya Birla Capital as a summer intern was indeed a delightful experience for me. This name "Aditya Birla" has a huge legacy and one needs to prepare hard to get an offer from this brand.
My preparation strategy was to read about the current happenings in the company, to be updated about every news that is linked to the company, to be thorough with my cv, my projects, my family and whatever I have done in my life. A question can come from anywhere, hence one should be prepared thoroughly for any type of question.

Interview:

My interview was conducted in 2 steps:
1. 25 minutes virtual interview with the recruiter
2. 10 minutes virtual interview with the HR
Pulkit Mitra, lead recruiter at Aditya Birla Capital took my virtual interview and asked various concept-based questions on Human Resources followed by some cv questions and some about my life experiences. After this round, senior HR, Mr.Anunay Shrivastava took my virtual HR interview for around 10 minutes. After a few moments, I was calling my friends and family that I have been selected to work at one of the most promising firms which was none other than Aditya Birla Capital.
The things which have helped me to crack my interview were to be confident, be crisp with your answers, and most importantly to answer what is getting being asked instead of hitting around the bushes. My previous work experience with HRs has surely helped me at the time of interview.

Internship:

My internship lasted for 9 weeks and it was a golden time for all the summer interns. I have prior work experience but working virtually was an entirely different experience for me. The first week of my internship was dedicated to the virtual induction where I got a chance to connect with my project head, Mr. Atul, Head of Learning and Development at ABC, and my project guide, Mr. Rakesh, Vice President of Learning and Development at ABSSL. They both guided me throughout my internship journey. The virtual induction was a set of online courses which gave me valuable insights about the firm. I also had access to virtual learning platform where I could learn anything that was required for my project. As my internship progressed, I learnt about the organization and majorly about the learning and development structure of the organization.

My Key Learnings From This Summer Internship Are:

The things which are taught in class and when you apply them are totally different. My project was based on the learning and development structure of the organization, so I learnt many new things in this field like creating a white paper, surveys to measure training effectiveness, creating learning modules, digitizing content and creating snippets and videos. All these learnings were on the job for me as I was doing many of the things for the first time in my life. My team members and my guide helped me a lot to learn new concepts every day and also helped me to think differently.
Whatever I had learnt in my first year of MBA was put into use as I used everything in my research for a white paper that was based on best learning and development practices. Hence, it is very important that students should learn the concepts in class and apply them when the time comes.

My advice for juniors is be enthusiastic, always be open to learning, give it your best shot whether the topic is of your interest or not as learning something new always helps. My overall Internship experience was enriching as I got to learn to be patient while working virtually, collaborating effectively with the team, making new connections and learning new things every day. "Always strive for excellence and you will surely succeed"!!!
