Symbiosis School of Media and Communication - Bengaluru (SSMC-B) in association with the esteemed Public Relations Council of India (PRCI) launched its chapter of Young Communicators Club (YCC) in the Institute recently. “The Young Communicators Club will be an effective platform for our post-graduate management students pursuing their specialisation in public relations, advertising and media management to interact with leading industry mentors through activities and workshops,” said Dr Triveni Mathur, Director Symbiosis School of Media and Communication - Bengaluru (SSMC-B). Mr. M.B. Jayaram, Chairman Emeritus & Chief Mentor - PRCI launched YCC, followed by students taking an oath to be ‘youth for change communication’. Ms.Geeta Shankar, in her address, said, “There is an abundance of e-factor in the youth. E-factor i.e. the Energy factor which is harnessed in organisations like PRCI-YCC that has to be channelized for greater productivity.” The success of this new beginning will surely set the tone for many such collaborations with SSMC-B in the near future. PRCI was represented by Ms Geetha Shankar (Director- PRCI and National Chairperson-YCC), Ms Maya Chandar (Head Karnataka Chapter- YCC and founder of MAYA), Mr Jayaram (Chairman Emeritus & Chief Mentor- PRCI) and Mr Prashanth (Secretary of YCC Chapter, Karnataka) at the event on August 24.,2017. SSMC-B offers a niche program in Communication Management with specialisations in Public Relations, Advertising and Media Management aligned to an industry oriented curriculum. About PRCI – YCC Public Relations Council of India (PRCI) is a premier non-political and not-for-profit organization of professionals in the fields of public relations, communication, advertising and many other allied services. In 2013, PRCI launched its youth wing – Young Communicators Club (YCC) – across its chapters in the country. This platform gives an opportunity to the students of Journalism, Mass Communication and Business Management to learn the ropes of the industry and get industry ready after interacting with eminent media personalities through a series of workshops, seminars, contests and creative events and festivals.   About SSMC-B Symbiosis School of Media & Communication, Bengaluru, (SSMC-B) established in 2009, aims to serve the multi-faceted needs of the media and communication industry in particular, and the society in general, through education, training and research. It seeks to train students to be competent, responsible and innovative professionals in the media industry sector, through a program structure that offers students an academic rigour blended with industry inputs. The institute has carved a niche in the field of Media and Communication education through its 2-year full-time MBA program in Communication Management.
