I was brought up at place near Renukoot. A quiet little place known mainly for the industry that it houses. Can you take a guess as to which company has its manufacturing unit there? Yes, you guessed it correctly the Aditya Birla Group has a manufacturing plant there , more specifically HINDALCO.
Now, after I have gotten into a B-school and having prior experience, I now understand the importance of keeping your employees happy, and for the Birla family it starts right from where you live. The kind of township which HINDALCO has set up for its employees is something that everyone should be looking up to. Every time that I visit the place I am in awe of the kind of hard work, maintenance that goes into it to keep it the way it is. Not only this, they have schools in the area as well which not a lot of companies can boast of. Young people with families, absolutely need places which have good schooling facilities for their children and “The Aditya Birla Public School” is one of the better schools around the region churning out great results year on year. It is no surprise that the people are so satisfied over there. On top of this, Renukoot has Birla temple as well. I have not visited any other temple that the Birla’s have made in other part of the country, but this one, is the finest one that I have seen till date. The architecture there is top notch, and the ambience is something that draws people to this place time and time again. These things really show the amount of care that Birla’s take, the extra effort that they make in keeping people happy. This really stuck with me throughout my childhood. We tend to appreciate things that we don’t have and I so dearly wish that I was more closely related to “The Aditya Birla family” from the very beginning.
I moved out of the region in 2012 to start a new phase of my life as an engineering student. I started taking part in corporate competitions from my sophomore year itself and as luck would have it, I got a chance to represent my college. “You are supposed to be in professional attire for the competition” read the mail. I ended up getting an “Allen Solly” suit for myself. Since then I have been part of 3 corporate competitions, 2 industry recruitment interviews and 4 B-School interviews. The one constant in this journey has been the suit that I got for myself and I am not letting it go any time soon as I believe it has been a lucky charm for me.
I believe ABG touches our lives in so many ways that we fail to recognize it. From keeping mummy’s food hot in a fresh wrap meant for the school interval to calling mummy from far away places, we are blessed in ways beyond measure. A simple “Thank You” is way insufficient to express our gratitude towards “The Aditya Birla Group”. It has touched me and shaped me in the person that I am today and I am greatly indebted to them for the same.
